  1. Same here! I can write with both hands at the same time - but it's easier if I write with one hand in mirror image.... (left or right) Yeah, ever since I learned cursive, mirror image seemed natural to me - that way I could see what my left hand was writing. Hours of entertainment watching my elementary teachers freak out when they put a mirror to my notes.
  2. The other day, I was eating with a group of 5 skydivers - and we were ALL left-handed! Just curious - which hand do you usually write with? (I play tennis left-handed, softball right-handed, and I eat with both hands
  3. Yeah, my husband and I started skydiving in August.... we now both have our own gear... and have kept all of our expenses in Microsoft Money... We hate to think about the total (especially when multiplied by 2)- all we can say is it is worth every penny! I had no idea that "just one jump" would change our lives completely!
  4. 1:3:1 1 dz Christmas party 3 great jumps - first ones on my new Hornet
  5. My husband and I did our first jump in the end of August, and it's been raining or cloudy/windy at least 3 out of 5 weekends since. So, we've been taking advantage of the days by going to the quiet dz and: 1. Learning and practicing how to pack 2. Talking to the other jumpers and jumpmasters (no jumping=people with more time to help) 3. Reading the dz's books and magazines 4. Learning about gear, wingloading, avoidable incidents, ect. 5. Watching skydiving videos. 6. Working on our juggling skills in the hangar If it's just cloudy - work on our football, frisbee, unicycling, and rollerblading skills. If others are jumping, watch when they flare - how they fly their canopy - and just enjoy the view and atmosphere. One bad weather weekend, we made the trip to Orlando's windtunnel - it helps so much! I'd definitely recommend it, especially if you want to fly better and be more comfortable in the air. (depending on their ages, your kids would probably like the trip/vacation, too - they'd get to see you flying - and, they may get to try it, too -anyone know the age limit? - and, there is a hotel beside the tunnel for only $35/night). Of course, nothing beats a day of jumping, but I say any day at the dz (or just thinking about skydiving) is a great day.
  6. I'd have to agree! Everyone is so helpful and fun to be around -

  8. I did my first jump 1 month (+2 days) ago, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about skydiving since - when I'm not awake, I'm dreaming about it. (My dreams are much more fun now)
  9. just 9 - graduated AFF, and can't stop thinking about jumping again
  10. Every detail is the most vivid. It's been 3 ½ weeks since my first jump, and man am I hooked! My first jump was AFF, and I had two really awesome female skydiver instructors - the theme was "chicks rule," which I thought was cool in this male dominated sport. My husband and I took the course together, and he jumped before me - without a doubt, I was the most nervous watching him fall from the sky with his instructors. The other fun jumper parachutes had opened, but he was still falling! My heart sank, then, ahh, a nice big student parachute opened followed by two much faster canopies. He made it!
