  1. The number currently in the frame is $10. So hardly likely to make many rich.
  2. That sounds fair, provided the kids pay tax on their income like anyone else would have to. Of course, applying the inheritance tax instead of the income tax allows those kids to get a large chunk of that inheritance/income tax free, with only the remainder being taxed. My original point was the inheritance tax hurts the small family farms and ranches. The kids can't afford the inheritance tax and have to sell the family operation to pay the tax. Which means fewer sources for food for this country. Chuck Only a minority of 'kids' will want to carry on with the farm. Most will want/find some other sort of livelihood. Same as the kids of doctors don't all become doctors. Only a minority do.
  3. Certainly not by getting an unearned inheritance. It sounds to me like you are jealous because you didn't get one and you know some who did. The terms envy and convetousness come to mind. You don't disagree with my statement though.
  4. The minimum wage should be increased. No! Chuck Yes!
  5. The minimum wage should be increased.
  6. And who might that be? Well, in standard Dreamdancer replyspeak: Those who earned it. He's proposed some garbage in the past that the owner or founder of a company didn't actually earn the money, the workers did. And they should get the money when the owner dies. Which doesn't take into any account the wishes of the person who created the ideas and the company to begin with. The one who really earned it. You agree then that the children certainly haven't earned it.
  7. I'd like the estate go to those who earned it - the children certainly haven't. It's just a free gift to them. And we know conservatives don't like anything for free.
  8. That's what the wealthy would of course say. Just like they say 'trickle down' works. The best course of action for America is to promote wealth through personal initiative, hard work and sound management... Certainly not by getting an unearned inheritance.
  9. 20% of any population are not completely innocent. If New York bankers were stopped and frisked over 20% of them would be found to be 'not innocent'. Except they're not stopped and frisked as they're not black.

  11. The only thing which, in opinion, the State can and should do, is first to modify little by little inheritance law so as to arrive as soon as possible at its complete abolition. That law being purely a creation of the State, and one of the conditions of the very existence of the authoritarian and divine State can and should be abolished by freedom in the State. In other words, State should dissolve itself into a society freely organized in accord with the principles of justice. Inheritance right, in our opinion, should abolished, for so long as it exists there will be hereditary economic inequality, not the natural inequality of individuals, but the artificial man inequality of classes.
  12. Seems to me you're the one pushing 'racial issues'. What do you think of the New York stop and frisk numbers? The points were hers not mine. I do not know about the NY numbers. You're promoting her points so you're the one pushing 'racial issues' here. The New York stop and frisk numbers are worth looking into.
  13. Poll after poll shows that 70 percent of the people support having the minimum wage keep up with inflation. That number includes many conservatives and Republicans. Even Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney, over the years, stood for this principle.

  15. This must be the tinfoil hat thread.
