Bill sweetheart...did you loose your temper? I have my beliefs and convictions. They are no worse than those of other people. I do not claim to know someone better than others. I am astonished at the reaction I got, but since I got it this is the reality: There is no military draft in the United States. Everybody who serves in the armed forces does so voluntarily. They do it for a paycheck. Unless you were drafted or serve for free, don't brag about it. If you leave your family and go to war that is a choice you made when you enlisted. I feel for the families of the people sent overseas. I hope all out troops return home safe and sound. These are the standards that I would have set for myself. If I were in the military it would not have been a sacrifice but my JOB! I view my oppinion, but tolerance is most important to me, so call me a fool. jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. As a teenager I once had a discussion with an East German Communist Youth (FDJ) activist. He was completely deaf to the world, blindly trusting his leaders and completely convinced that East Germany and Communism are the best. I asked him where it was bette, it the US or the USSR. He said that by all means the USSR. The sad part was he has never been to either and yet he made a strong declaration. It is extremely unwise to take it out on military personnel. They signed a contract and don't really have a choice but to perform their jub duties. It would be very low to rub in in the faces of relatives of people who have perished or got hurt. I will be the first one to criticize those who boast about killing people. I must say Slovenia is just gorgeous. I went canyonning there. Absolutely amazing. Rock climbing is perfect. Food is indecribable....yummy, yummy and the people are super friendly. By the way Robert...I hate cheap attire. My work clothing is custom tailored for me by Cerutti in Milan, my shoes are made to measure by Vasz in Budapest, I design my shirts myself and have them tailored in Poland, made of Egyptian cotton. I drink good French and Italian wines and smoke Cuban cigars...you see I like to pamper myself. You chose your way of earning a living, I chose mine. I am not Jesus, I don't sacrifice. Neither you are. Please don't tell me that you are sacrificing anything. You have a job. You are paid for it. Being paid for performing service is no sacrifice. If you die in combat, your kids get a flag, your wife gets a big check. Death in combat is one of the risks in your job description. It is not a sacrifice. Dave...interesting topic for a paper. Have you mentioned that Germans advanced so quickly in the first period of the war following the invasion (June 22, 1941) because the Russians were in offensive positions on the boarder prepared to attack Germany? Their entire war machine was prepared for attack, from type of planes through tanks etc. Their military doctrine was geared towards atacking, not defense. That also explains why Stalin was not concerned about reports of the German invasion - he thought he would be the first one to hit. Communism was a sick system. As result of that system Russia is now the largest country in the world with vast natural resources given by the maker, yet an economy comaparable in size to that of Belgium. The majority of the population is completely demoralized and destroyed by apathy and alcohol. The civilisation gap between Russia and the West is astounding. jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. I think war protesters, jews, catholics, homosexuals, single mothers and all not Southern Baptist decent folks, should be horded onto trains and sent to concentration camps. Funny...I am just reading a historical account on the operations of SS Sondereinsatztuppen in Russia during WWII. The only difference is that they did not have buldozers and the houses were wodden. I undersytand and most definitely respect what you are doing. It is the right thing to do, however we have the power to do these things within our own community. Calling the police is RATTING.
