Good Afternoon Everyone, I am thinking about getting one of the RIO S35S sports MP3 players and was wondering if anyone here has one or could give any advice on other good MP3 players. I am sick of the morning radio stations that I pick up on my headphones and need something that I can put some good fast, keep the pace up music on for the long runs. Howard Stern, Steve and DC, and Bob and Tom just aren't my cup of tea for helping keep a run going. Thanks in advance. ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo

I live in St. Louis and Boeing/McDonnel Douglas has fighter production here. Many times when they take off from the airport they go Vertical to clear the airspace quicker. On one flight out of lambert, we are on our way up in the stodgy ole 737 and out the window straight up goes an F15 What a Rush!!! ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo

OHHH Media 9 is the Mother of Blue Screens of Death for me, I installed on my old Win98 POS and Poof. Hitting Play now equals hitting Ctrl - Alt - Del. On my Win XP machine no problems. Damn Bill Gates for not letting me install my licensed copy of WinXP on my other machine. I know I know copyright stuff, but come on I have survived Dos 3, Dos 5, Win 3.1, Win 98, Win ME, and Windows XP. Haven't I forked enough cash to OS's yet? ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo

Peace march had it all wrong, why not potest Iraq?
trilete312 replied to bodypilot90's topic in The Bonfire
Lets face it we live in a f*cked up country. We drive vehicles that help to destroy our environment. We plan for the future(in 20 years this won't matter), but constantly dwell on the past(I remember when this cost a dime). Our prisons are full and our courts are swamped. We eat fast food that speeds us toward our graves but our life expectancies have grown. We pay Athletes insane money but pay the teachers of our children very little. Child care costs so much that parents that want to work can't afford to work. And we have social programs that let parents that don't want to work sponge off the system and stay home. The nightly news features corruption and mayhem and death because it gets better ratings than the stories of heroism and bravery. We complain about the police until we need to dial 911. We are used to computers that crash and airplanes that don't. Home shopping networks are broadcast and are actually successful. Wow is our country screwed up... But... Would I live anywhere else..... NO WAY. It isn't perfect, its not even close, but it is OUR country. We have the right to complain, to bitch, and to voice our opinion, we can attend marches and if we are really disgruntled, we can replace the official we don't like by casting our ballot against that person. But in the end, when it is time to support our ELECTED government, either stand up and support it or GET OUT! Sorry this is a rant, but I was just told by a customer that we are trying to destroy his business because we sent him to collections based on his nationality. When it was the fact that he was way behind on his payments and I have no clue what his nationality is? -
Damn, I wish I could corner the market on visclean and duct tape. It is sad that there was actually a run on this stuff. ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo

As an extreme newbie to skydiving (21 Jumps) I can say that I would not jump at a DZ that didn't require you to have an altimeter as a student. I constantly check my altimeter because I am still learning what it feels like to fly my body. At low jump numbers, you can not expect someone to develope an internal clock for altitude. Does everyone remember learning to dock and do all the things needed for your A license check dive? Well those things are mighty new to someone with low jump numbers and the excitement of accomplishing something as simple as a good front flip or driving all the way to a successful dock can easily overwhelm a student. If the student were worrying about this and guessing how high they were, there is a good chance that their first indication they were too low was when their coach waved and pulled. Now you have a student who is freaking out because their coach just pulled and could easily panic and not pull stable. For a DZ, isn't an altimeter a cheaper option than replacing a cypress cutter, repacking a reserve, and having a student rig out of service while this maintenance takes place? ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo

Time for a dramatic change. All politicians should be replaced immediately. Lets get rid of the political families and make them actually work for a living. I mean other than getting Drunk every single day, what has Ted Kennedy done.. basically Ever? How can that guy ever get reelected. Lets can the ayatollahs and the politburos, the parliament members and the diplomatic core. Lets get back to people governing people. Has anyone watched Mr. Sterling, wouldn't it be nice to have a politician like that just once. ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo

What is your favorite cartoon from when you were very little
trilete312 replied to Squeak's topic in The Bonfire
Actually, it wasn't the cartoons that were as great as SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK. "As your body grows bigger Your mind grows flowered It's great to learn 'Cause knowledge is power! It's Schoolhouse Rocky That chip off the block of your favorite schoolhouse Schoolhouse Rock! How many other people know the Preamble because of the preamble song. "We the people" I passed english because of "Conjunction Junction", "Interjections", and "Lolly Lolly Lolly" ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo -

Anyone that would recommend something like that to a new jumper has NO Ethics. I am 200 lbs and very new, but I have enough sense to know that there is no way in Hell I can control something like that. I would have a serious problem with anyone who would even make me the offer to jump it. ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo

I think I would land off to see if I could assist knowing that someone from the DZ would be on the way to pick us up. If the person were unconcious and bleeding you could stop the flow of blood and save their life. ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo

One of the problems is that you aren't necessarily out anything. There are plenty of Scheister lawyers who will sue anyone in the hopes of settling out of court. They will take a case for no out of pocket fee from you but they will take a big chunk of the cash awarded to you. One of my best friends is a claims manager for an insurance company and they will settle suits out of court that they could probably win,but it is cheaper to them to settle. When they look at the cost in lost productivity and people time to go to trial, it is cheaper to pay someone $5,000-$10,000 to settle. I don't say we need to get rid of lawsuits, I just say there should be a penalty for bringing a lawsuit and losing. This is off the top of the head but how about something like punitive damages to the person you sued. They are out time, money, and that ever famous "Mental Anguish" if you sued and lost, pay up. ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo

The problem is the rash of groundless lawsuits. Our court system is swamped with people suing corporations and individuals with the hope of getting rich quick. Do I think the corporate world is guilt free? Absolutely not. But people have gotten so greedy these days that we are to blame also. Why are the first thoughts so many people have after an accident, I am going to sue them. When someone drops a dumbbell on there toe at the gym, why does a personal injury lawyer tell them to sue over unsafe conditions. If a criminal comes into your house robs you and falls in the empty pool in your backyard as he tries to escape, he is likely to sue you for an unsafe hazzard. He will likely win. The court system needs to be revamped to put an end to the mass of meaningless get rich quick lawsuits that are brought before it every day. Sorry for the rant, but this is one of those topics that just pisses me off. ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo

There are only 2 hours of work left this week, then it is head home, pack my stuff and head for the DZ where I will be purchasing my first ( BEER ) new/used Rig. I truly feel like a kid in a candy store. Now if I can just get that pesky first solo packing job down ( BEER AGAIN ), I will finish my A and actually join the ranks of Licensed Skydivers :) Wow does time crawl when you are expecting fun. ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo

Wow pets are great and it is incredibly hard when you have to let them go, I just got home from the vet, and they didn't even have time to Euth. She sat on the table with me petting her and just passed away. Wow is that hard. Now just have to remember all the joy she brought over the last 12 years. ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo

OK, I just read the article and I am really confused about something. The article says that Stearns holds the records for most jumps in a single day at 352. WHAT?? That works out to 14.6 jumps an hour or 1 jump every 4 minutes and change. How did she do this? How do you jump, land, switch rigs, and get back to altitude to do this in under 5 minutes? Anyone know? ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo
