I've spent a bit of time in Switzerland. I know how their political system works. The people rule. Not some dictator like N Korea, or military dictatorship like most of your examples of "socialist" countries. True communism isn't practised in places like Cuba, for example.
-
And as for socialism/communism, the country most closely aligned with pure communism would be.......Switzerland. Government by the people, for the people. The people get to vote on almost every policy, and the vote is binding.
-
They are social democracies, where the policies put the welfare of the citizens first. Social welfare, free or low cost education, medical treatment, pensions for the elderly are all socialist policies. And free and fair elections without political corruption. Those are some of the richest, most stable countries on the planet. I think you are confusing socialism with communism, the worst example being North Korea, effectively a dictatorship, exactly what Trump wants to bring to the US. I doubt very much that Kamala has much in common with the countries on that list you posted. In fact Trump is more closely aligned with most of them
-
Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, France, the UK, Australia, NZ, Japan...are a few examples of countries that have failed with those socialist policies.... Hang on.....

He'll never concede. He'll die proclaiming it was stolen.

And they played the theme from Titanic at their latest rally. Even Celine, who didn't give them permission to use it asked: "WTF are you thinking". Appropriate though, to use a song about a sinking ship.

Jerry Brown and Gavin Newsome, looking at the fires in California. And there was no "emergency" on that flight either.
-
Dismissed by Mr Brown as total fiction. Was never in a helicopter with Trump, was never involved in any emergency landing, and never dissed Kamala Harris. A fantasy in Trumps addled mind.
-
And his story about nearly dying in a helicopter accident has been exposed as total fiction. He's living in Disneyland...
-
Its all irrelevant nonsense anyway, his service is beyond question. All it is boils down to the MAGA mob desperately flailing around because they have nothing to offer, and nothing to compare in terms of their own credentials. Its the same with the bs about Harris and her ethnicity. Totally irrelevant to their ability to lead the US in the future.

I think once he is behind bars or under the ground, a lot of these Maga idiots will melt into the dark. They are a bunch of cowards, despite all their tough talk. And the FBI, LE, and DOJ will be ready for them this time, especially if Garland is replaced by someone a little less concerned with "optics" in an attempt to be "fair". If the blue wave sweeps the house and senate clean, then perhaps the SC can be sorted out as well. This will go a long way to negating any threats MAGA pose. I think they overestimate themselves hugely, because as far as I can see, most Americans are heartily sick of their nonsense.

Here is the full quote: “Why do some British people not like Donald Trump?” Nate White, an articulate and witty writer from England wrote the following response: A few things spring to mind. Trump lacks certain qualities which the British traditionally esteem. For instance, he has no class, no charm, no coolness, no credibility, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety, no sensitivity, no self-awareness, no humility, no honour and no grace – all qualities, funnily enough, with which his predecessor Mr. Obama was generously blessed. So for us, the stark contrast does rather throw Trump’s limitations into embarrassingly sharp relief. Plus, we like a laugh. And while Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty or even faintly amusing – not once, ever. I don’t say that rhetorically, I mean it quite literally: not once, not ever. And that fact is particularly disturbing to the British sensibility – for us, to lack humour is almost inhuman. But with Trump, it’s a fact. He doesn’t even seem to understand what a joke is – his idea of a joke is a crass comment, an illiterate insult, a casual act of cruelty. Trump is a troll. And like all trolls, he is never funny and he never laughs; he only crows or jeers. And scarily, he doesn’t just talk in crude, witless insults – he actually thinks in them. His mind is a simple bot-like algorithm of petty prejudices and knee-jerk nastiness. There is never any under-layer of irony, complexity, nuance or depth. It’s all surface. Some Americans might see this as refreshingly upfront. Well, we don’t. We see it as having no inner world, no soul. And in Britain we traditionally side with David, not Goliath. All our heroes are plucky underdogs: Robin Hood, Dick Whittington, Oliver Twist. Trump is neither plucky, nor an underdog. He is the exact opposite of that. He’s not even a spoiled rich-boy, or a greedy fat-cat. He’s more a fat white slug. A Jabba the Hutt of privilege. And worse, he is that most unforgivable of all things to the British: a bully. That is, except when he is among bullies; then he suddenly transforms into a snivelling sidekick instead. There are unspoken rules to this stuff – the Queensberry rules of basic decency – and he breaks them all. He punches downwards – which a gentleman should, would, could never do – and every blow he aims is below the belt. He particularly likes to kick the vulnerable or voiceless – and he kicks them when they are down. So the fact that a significant minority – perhaps a third – of Americans look at what he does, listen to what he says, and then think ‘Yeah, he seems like my kind of guy’ is a matter of some confusion and no little distress to British people, given that: • Americans are supposed to be nicer than us, and mostly are. • You don’t need a particularly keen eye for detail to spot a few flaws in the man. This last point is what especially confuses and dismays British people, and many other people too; his faults seem pretty bloody hard to miss. After all, it’s impossible to read a single tweet, or hear him speak a sentence or two, without staring deep into the abyss. He turns being artless into an art form; he is a Picasso of pettiness; a Shakespeare of shit. His faults are fractal: even his flaws have flaws, and so on ad infinitum. God knows there have always been stupid people in the world, and plenty of nasty people too. But rarely has stupidity been so nasty, or nastiness so stupid. He makes Nixon look trustworthy and George W look smart. In fact, if Frankenstein decided to make a monster assembled entirely from human flaws – he would make a Trump. And a remorseful Doctor Frankenstein would clutch out big clumpfuls of hair and scream in anguish: ‘My God… what… have… I… created?' If being a twat was a TV show, Trump would be the boxed set.

And after orange, he turned yellow....talk about a chameleon...
-
Agreed. He needs to use his unlimited power to order the arrest and incarceration of Trump, his lickspittles and those SC judges who have violated their oaths to the constitution. They are a clear and present danger to the country. Enemies, both DOMESTIC and foreign, I think the oath of allegiance clearly states.
-
So how many did he pay off a la Stormy? How many NDAs were signed? How many stories did the National Enquirer kill on his behalf? There was quite an extensive list of women claiming the creep molested them one way or another, including his ex wife. And that doesn't even address what might have gone on with Epstein...where there's smoke there's fire. And in Donnys case, its a bloody big forest fire producing lots of smoke.
-
Point of order: I think his "rape" score is too low.
-
Big wanker backing another big wanker...
-
Yes. Before they shoot me.......or you.

Everything Trump and the MAGA mob say and do suggest the end of democracy is exactly their aim. And a lot of their rhetoric is straight out of the Nazi playbook.
-
As the saying goes, "Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind". He's brought this kind of event on himself by his own vile rhetoric. Wasn't he joking about Paul Pelosi being attacked? Did one of the SS yell: "Donald, duck"
-
Air rifle slugs, not bullets. Apparently.

I sympathize with his situation totally, my comment was more to do with the blame game that goes on. Unless there is total and provable negligence on the part of the operator, I think if people want to partake in risky activities, they should also accept the consequences, especially if the consequence is a result of their own action. Not saying he did anything wrong, but if he in fact has 80 odd skydives under his belt, he should be well in control of his body in a tunnel. What was he doing when the incident occurred? Back loops? Head down? I find it hard to imagine what you could do in a tunnel that would result in quadriplegia.
-
Just using a line from the MAGA playbook..

No shark wouldn't want a piece of him, he's too toxic. Any that did take a chomp, would spit him out pretty damn quick...

I think this is fake news...
