Congrats! Feels great knowing you have a better opportunity and an end is in sight to the torture! In every man's life he will be allotted one good woman and one good dog. That's all you get, so appreciate them while the time you have with them lasts. - RiggerLee

Vector told me directly the V350 will work for a 190-150. From their rigger's mouth. So that's what I have on order! In every man's life he will be allotted one good woman and one good dog. That's all you get, so appreciate them while the time you have with them lasts. - RiggerLee

As someone that just came off my student status recently and have a wife starting the process completely... Don't even look to buy gear until maybe halfway through your A license progression. When they say "you don't know what you don't know" they are right. Get some time under your belt with a canopy in general and you'll start to learn what type of flying you want. Just keep the money aside or start/continue saving. The deals will be there when you are ready. In every man's life he will be allotted one good woman and one good dog. Mill an AR lower and tell the wrong person about it. Let me know how federal prison looks. And it isn't the only part regulated, short-barrelled uppers are controlled as well and can only be married to a registered SBR/pistol lower. 25lbs for a rig yes. Plus your clothes, shoes, helmet jumpsuit etc... figure 30-35# all told. In every man's life he will be allotted one good woman and one good dog. That's all you get, so appreciate them while the time you have with them lasts. - RiggerLee

Pretty slick ideas in some of those. The indoor cloud was pretty cool to imagine. But the World Wingsuit Championships making the list is awesome for us! what can i expect for a lifespan on a container
blueblur replied to md202089's topic in Gear and Rigging
One thing to keep in mind with a Vector as well is the 10 month wait list. I ordered mine last month with plans to use it from a 190-150 canopy size. I'm flying a 210 now and should be near ready to step down by this time next year. Just make sure you're getting the most life out of it if you do order new. Oh and that $2300 will go up quickly when you start adding options! In every man's life he will be allotted one good woman and one good dog. I especially love the thread title "Guns fired in air, 23 dead". Should read "Guns fired in air, 23 killed by downed power line". Quick and easy spin to get some shock value, huh? Closing Pin Necklace, bought or earned?
blueblur replied to ReluctantStool's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Like I'm sure you'll notice, some hang to the left, some to the right, some even point straight up! Mine's curved to the left... always been that way but she doesn't complain. MONEY...it is what the wesbite is about. Besides stroking his ego. Would you same the same for a freelance photographer, author, contractor, etc...? That is his public resume to further his business. Good advice. I would add this... Coming from a motorcycle racing background as well, don't downsize until you can wring every last bit of performance and capability out of that canopy. I am about your size as well, my 210 Spectre is my first canopy, flew 230's on student status. The Spectre (and Sabre etc...) is a completely different canopy in terms of performance and flight characteristics. Downsizing once you can just LAND safely is like riding a Ninja 250 until you can take a curve without your feet down and then hopping on a 600. Big difference between that and learning to drag knee/pegs/exhaust and killing someone's ego on that same bike. Learning on a bigger, more subtle canopy/bike will make you a better pilot on the bigger stuff. (ask me how many people I've embarassed on my old 250...) New account to purchase gear...have some questions
blueblur replied to baRRRpirate's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Paypal is about the safest way to pay unless you can pay them directly with a credit card (as in through a DZ). The absolute best way would be to have it shipped to your rigger and pay upon inspection if the seller is ok with that. In every man's life he will be allotted one good woman and one good dog. That's just it, it's not a nor'easter. It's a nor'easter converging with a hurricane with 11ft+ of storm surge. In every man's life he will be allotted one good woman and one good dog. That's all you get, so appreciate them while the time you have with them lasts. - RiggerLee

because of this quote from the description... "This high performance sport SUV truck tire has been selected as original equipment on many premium, high performance European vehicles." Generally, OEM-specific tires are pricier on the consumer end, especially high performance tires as OEM tires for premium brands. May likely have been built to spec for the OEMs. In every man's life he will be allotted one good woman and one good dog. I bought a Phantom X and the extra dark shield. (skip the mirror, it will flake off and look like shit later) I have used the dark shield once. I open the visor under canopy to avoid fogging, yes it will fog on you under canopy. I wear the clear shield and sunglasses. Plus what Dave said about eye contact is 100% correct. I'm not a freeflyer by any means, but it matters. In every man's life he will be allotted one good woman and one good dog. The last time a large (geographically) slow moving storm hit that area, my families in No. VA. were without power for about 10 days and clean drinking water for 4. It flooded the water treatment plants. It is a cause for concern and preparedness, but yes, the media is hyping it up pretty strongly due to the nature of the affected area. But OTOH, the more people that are aware and prepared, the better. So it's not so much a bad thing in my eyes, just gets old. In every man's life he will be allotted one good woman and one good dog. All of those examples came about from the military (with the possible slight exception of advanced batteries, but the .mil is using robots and such running on them). The military is not using solar energy... This isn't about R&D not panning out, this is about private companies taking money and going under completely, with possible criminal fraud. I think his (and others') overall answer is not that we shouldn't be developing these techs because they work or don't work. Simply that the government should not be funding private companies to develop exotic tech when we have other fiscal issues to solve. Yes, widespread solar, wind, etc... are great goals, but for the government to hand out billions to private companies that are now bankrupt is irresponsible and wrong. If these companies were so ground-breaking, private investors would have picked up the tab already. They seem to have simply taken the money and run (it into the ground!).
