  1. I'm pretty happy with the way things are, and try to be happy with the good things I've been dealt. That being said, if I were to change something, it would be to have more time between work and school to get better at composing or playing my instrument, or maybe pursuing a career in music education. well...I was going skydiving anyway. let's go. Earn your pancakes.
  2. Welcome to the skies and the forums

  4. thanks guys :) nice to meet you. heading back this Sunday for AFF 6 and 7 and hopefully a few solo/coached jumps. blue skies to you :) well...I was going skydiving anyway. let's go. Earn your pancakes.
  5. Yea it sucked there wasn't enough options to include more genres! Although I must say I'm not a country fan... Some classical is cool like Chopin and I loooooove Philip Glass lol fair enough. also nice choice on the piano music :). well...I was going skydiving anyway. let's go. Earn your pancakes.
  6. I'm a student too, and more experienced people can definitely help more, but I know where you're coming from and thought I'd share what helped for me. My first few dives I spent thinking a hundred miles an hour and stressing about "passing". And the first few times I thought I was relaxed but wasn't because of that stress. It took remembering what totally relaxed felt like on the ground. Like sitting down with a beer after a long day of work. That and going out there to enjoy the skydive rather than to "pass" helped a lot. It's much of the same, and not perfect (I still have plenty of things to work on) but at least for relaxation, that's what helped me. It got me stable after a dumb exit and flips all over on jump 5 and it ended up being a really fun skydive. Good luck man :) and have fun well...I was going skydiving anyway. let's go. Earn your pancakes.
  7. Rock and jazz are awesome but country and classical anyone?
  8. nice man! congrats on your license
  9. hey guys. I'm new here and to the sport and thought I"d introduce myself. I've wanted to jump out of planes for a while, since before I could. Finally had the money and time to do it and started jumping at the Farm about two weeks ago. I've completed AFF 5, looking to do 6 and 7 in a few days and start on my way to my A license. I'm hooked and loving it, and looking forward to what I hope is a long time jumping out of airplanes and meeting some awesome people. cheers

    Skydive The Farm

I started going out to the Farm two weeks ago to start working on my AFF through A license. I had never jumped before and despite wanting to get into the sport, I was nervous about going into AFF. My first jump course was with Mike Anderson, who answered every question I had planned on asking just in the course, kept us engaged, and made sure we were confident with the material at each step. When it came time to go jump, I was nervous but confident and ready to go. My first jump was with Mike and Walt, both of which did a great job at everything from going over each part of the jump to just helping me relax. The instructors perform several gear checks on the ground and in the air on every jump, and teach the students to do the same, and to focus on safety which I like. When it came time to leave the plane, I was nervous, but mostly relaxed and we had a pretty good skydive. Since then, I've completed through level 5, and had an amazing time on each jump. I'm headed back in a few days for level 6 and 7 and to start solo diving. Every instructor I've had did a great job of explaining the skydive, what to do, and then giving feedback on what to improve upon once we were back down. I've felt confident jumping with every one of them, and thanks to the instructors, I've gotten a lot more confident in the air and am loving the sport. I can't wait to get back out there and jump again. For the DZ itself, it's a fun place to hang out. Very laid back atmosphere, and everyone is friendly and welcoming which is awesome for a shy new guy. Anyway, friendly atmosphere, great place to hang out, pretty awesome prices, nice big landing area, very safety oriented instructors who teach really well. I'm really glad I chose the Farm to start jumping and I will absolutely continue to jump there through and after getting my A license.
