landed the plane twice, didn't feel right at altitude so i rode the plane to the ground . I think it has to do with the landings itself being higher risk than takeoff or maybe its just ego. maybe a pilot on this forumn can offer insight on landings with no-go's -------------------------------------------------- who Jah bless Let no man curse.

I started diving in aug 98' and it was T-10 static line with modifications to allow some control, then i graduated to freefall and jumped a LO-PO round, then on to the para-commanders and then to square, I somewhat hooked a para-camander and broke my foot in 2 places, lateral break on the bottom of the foot and broke the ankle socket, 12 weeks in a air cast and 18 weeks of therapy my next jump was 10 months after the incident, blue skies Jah guide -------------------------------------------------- who Jah bless Let no man curse.

wallygator replied to gatorbait's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
not ashamed to admit that i rode the plane to altitude and landed with it 2 times. the instructor onboard asked me why and i said it didn't feel right, from there it was no more questions. blue skies -------------------------------------------------- who Jah bless Let no man curse. -

Does skydiving make you tired?
wallygator replied to BoogieBob's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
two words describe it for me, adrenaline burnout, did 6 exits from 10500' in the fall and it was 2-3 days before i was refreshed but cold weather jumping is tiring in itself i think the temp was -10 plus freefall windchill -------------------------------------------------- who Jah bless Let no man curse. -
Have you ever gone low unintentionally?
wallygator replied to jerry81's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
it was loss of altitude awareness. I was looking around to make sure i wouldn't dump in some one's face. in hind sight i should have went for silver. my main is a 210 cruislite it's average opening is about 300' to full inflation, i honestly believe i had that BEAUTIFUL piece of fabric open in just under 150', and smoked a full deck(25) of smokes in about 15 min once i had the gear off cheers -------------------------------------------------- who Jah bless Let no man curse. -

jump 49 was a 5-way horney gorrila that funnelled 2. Broke off at 4500' in the saddle at 900' to 1000'. Scared the living shit out of me and i don't remember tossing the PC. Just milking the risers and prayed it opened. cheers -------------------------------------------------- who Jah bless Let no man curse. -
Have you ever done a naked Jump?
wallygator replied to Bolas's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hell yeah!!! It was great and i did 3 of them from 10,500'. The only thing is that i suggest you wait for a clear day no clouds or very little. I accidently unintentionally went through the clouds and went to fetal postion immediately. Moisture drops at 165mph in the nude kinda F$%#ING hurts and the dangly bits didn't like it too much either. And i can't wait for my nude mr. bill -------------------------------------------------- who Jah bless Let no man curse. -
I have had a couple of hard openings myself and after talking to a couple instructers at my dz one of them reccomended this, on opening as you toss the PC alter your body position to an almost backslide, not s complete backslide but bring the head up so that you are almost looking down at the horizon. If you want degree numbers i was told between 15 and 30 degree up angle and this will reduce the hard opening and also reduce chance of a PC burbble and give you a softer opening. I have been doing this for the last 80 or so jumps and I havn't had a hard opening or slammer.. This has worked for me but make sure you investigate it before attempting. What works for me might not work for everyone. Cheers, blue skies softer landings heal fast and strong play safe hind sight is 20-20 -------------------------------------------------- who Jah bless Let no man curse.

I have jumped here in the past and hope to make it my new home in the spring 2003. Mike Pitt is the dzo, and he runs a tight ship. So if you want to take the plunge come on down. Don't foreget the otter's in July. Blue Skies The staff and instructors are friendly so don't be shy.

Glad everything worked out for you. I'm still green in the sport myself. On jump 34 I broke my centre suspension lines. I chose to ride it to the ground, for a fast safe landing on a 254. Judgement call, low to no winds, 300 acres of open field. Flat turns got me down safe from 2300'. play safe blue skies -------------------------------------------------- who Jah bless Let no man curse.
