  1. THANKS Jerry, MEL (Mark Lancaster) indeed solved/fixed my problem. Oversize slider and pro-pack does the job nicely. BTW, canopy was in PERFECT trim. PD told me that they increased the slider size substantially 2 years later. Marks slider is about the size of a tandem slider.
  2. I have a low use, but older (1995) PD 210. micro-lines, not ZP, in excellent shape, but opening shock is WICKED. It doesn't help that I gained 25 pounds (weigh 210 now myself) and the canopy was designed when fall rates were slower. Canopy is in perfect trim and lines are almost new. Flies great, lands great. pro-packing only helps a LITTLE, but not enough to keep me from leaving the DZ with pain and bruising. Current slider is 19.5 x 30.5 inches (big grommets) Can ANYONE direct me to POC for an experienced rigger who can make/sell me a LARGER or POCKET, OR FLAG slider? (whichever one will work to slow this thng down). THX. PS, I don't have $2K right now for a new main canopy, so please don't advise me to buy something else.
  3. I think I am going to try a rubber band stow of the slider on the B-line attachment point (like in the old days) to slow things down, then a larger or pocket slider if that doesn't work. thx for input.
  4. Hello, I have been an infrequent jumper last few years, and zero jumps for almost 2 years until last weekend. I am considering a larger canopy than my PD210 (1995) because I weigh 30 pounds more than I used to (210 pounds now). The PD has very hard openings and I am mainly looking at (very) cheap/used larger canopies. (no need/desire for a high performance canopy, have around 1100 jumps). Doing research on container volume, the current website says a J4 can hold a Zero-P canopy up to a 190. Can anyone translate that into "non" zero-p canopy sizes? Also, what is the cubic inch capacity of a J4? There is more than enough room in there now for my PD 210. PS, other than changing the stowed brake positions (which is next), anyone have a good method of slowing down the openings on my PD-210? Rolling the nose not super effective.. thx..
