Don't forget the people who - won't pay registration because they might not jump. - show up with out of date reserves and get pissed at the person who is responsible for gear checks. - ask you to look up their USPA # because they forgot their card - who don't know what a garbage can is I could go on, but I won't. I have very limited experience working at boogies, but I have seen enough to know that people can be annoying as hell and need a lot of babysitting.     I went in '05. I was there only over the 1st weekend and didn't like that I had to pay that large registration for the entire event. I think a 4-5 day event with a smaller registration fee would attract more people. Most skydivers have to work and we all get only so many vacation days. There are a LOT of boogies and local/regional events that people want to attend, as well. Be patient with the faults of others; they have to be patient with yours.

    Out of all that were mentioned I have been to Richmond and Xenia. I have only jumped at Richmond during the boogie, but Phree is right - you simply cannot miss the airport. It is huge. At Xenia - three of us just showed up one random weekend. We were greeted by some of the nicest people ever. There is a great energy at that dropzone and it, too, has a huge landing area. Take your time to find the dz that fits your needs and personality the best. Distance within that limited range shouldn't matter at this point. You want a safe and fun place to learn.
