What exactly does AFF allow me to do?
NvyZero replied to TDFbound's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
They may have an A license package call them. I know of one dz that offers an a license package for 1500 includes log book altimeter and gear rental up to 25 jumps! Phase one aff where I learned was lvl 1-3 aff (2 instructor) phase 2 was 4-7 (1 instructor) then 9 coach jumps! Remember have fun! -
Longmont City Council will take up skydiving noise
NvyZero replied to stratostar's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
So stupid!!! Mile Hi is on a municipal airport and their are planes coming in and out of their all day! The complainers' logic is invalid! -
I have a a back fusion of my whole lower spine. i had cancer (ewings sarcoma) in my back (L3) at 17. I went through some intense chemo then had surgery to remove the rest of the tumor, i currently have rods, screws, mesh, and a bone graph from my rib. i just began jumping last year, and i have found safe landings and a large parachute are the way to go. I am currently at a 1:1 wl and its kept me alive from some double fronts action right into the ground . You could say i was not all together that morning . This was also right after a canopy course from the weekend before! Sorry to ramble but yeah it is possible to still jump with my whole lower back fused together! Blue Skies -Texas No Helmet

Can anybody inform of the pros/cons of this helmet? I plan on becoming a vidiot very soon chasing tandems as well as filming all types of flying! so i am wondering what the ideal set up would be for this helmet with stills and video for every type of jump? Or is there better "all around helmet" for this?

I plan on shooting tandems soon with video and stills! Ive been looking into this helmet and i am wondering if this is a good helmet for doing this. What are the pros and cons, and what is the most ideal set up for the still camera and the video camera! Thank you for your advice!!!

I just received a cx 190 for my birthday, and i understand that one can take still photos while recording with it, how would one be able to do this with a camera helmet set up? Would it just be set up with a bite switch, or is there any sort of mods that one would have to make to the camera to make this work with a camera helmet? Thanks for the info!!!

So being bored i decided to go on facebook with a dz.com mentality! Lets just say i pissed off a couple people. So anyways i see my xgf from high-school and she has this pic posted talking about being fat! In the pic xgf is with friend and i proceed to say they look like like 2 headed fat freak (not fat at all she was an 8 till i smashed so now a 6)! Then a random says something about hatorade. I say "keep on sippin that hatorade!" Xgf starts talking about what i did to try and get her back in hs. I attempted to type a rebuttle but she unfriended me. Anyways we pmed back and forth and she was having a tantrum. Then her bf in some army national guard airborne division sàys hell beat my ass yaddda yaddda yaddda and he has friends where i live who will do it for him! So i tell him to have fun with his 2 shot cape wells and i hope he knows how to use his reserve! I hope he shits and pisses himself every jump! I never had a problem with either one of them i just happened axross a post that was too much fun to pass up! And my xgf got so fucking butt hurt she ran off and told the tool! Wish i could post the conversations! If anyone knows how plz pm lol this shit is too funny not to share!

Emergency Procedures - Side by Side
NvyZero replied to BigMikeH77's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Students are usually given the info they need for the jump. Also a lot of information is covered in the fjc and most of it is totally forgotten due to information overload! Also I think no one should ever give advice on these forums, were all assholes ! Im a YDJ but i have had access to amazing instructors, and people in general and for some reason im still alive! If your gonna take advice always pull high! -

Practice highspeed malfuction procedures
NvyZero replied to NvyZero's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Does anyone else practice high speed emergency procedures while in free fall? I find my self doing this during a solo for the muscle memory. Do you think that this should be a part of aff or possibly coaching? Say its drilled on the ground with hand signals for each high speed mal, then the instructor or coach while in free fall gives the signal for the mal and the student does the correct EP for the situation. Im bringing this up because ive been with friends just joking around in the Loading area and i throw out a random mal to them such as a pc in tow, cant find your handle, your low, etc... and they hesitate on what to do or completely do the wrong thing! Im just worried we may lose jumpers due to lack of drilling highspeed mals. What is y'alls input? -
Littleton! I'll be there Friday to if the world doesnt end I just placed ammo caches all over the place! I have a Strong feeling riots will take place and Marshall law will go into effect I hope it doesn't happen but it's always good to expect the worse!

The atmosphere is full of smiles and joy! Everyone loves everyone out there. Staff, and fun jumpers alike will come up to u gear check you make sure ur safe. They will also tell u if ur being unsafe, they are looking out for you and the others in the sky with you! The staff even picks u up in a golf cart if u land sort of far away they always make sure ur gear is in good condition as well as They will find your lost canopy and free bag if u had a chop! Also they ENFORCE the beer rules, so there is always beer in the fridge and one can buy beer 2.6miles away, also there is a bar right up the street called the "loft,"and guess who runs it? Skydivers! All in all skydive Dallas is an awesome, laid back environment, and when they see a fresh jumper they immediately want to make you feel at home! If there is a staff member around who is not currently working he will make an effort to jump with you or get you organized in a group! But the beer is the best part, the after hours debauchery is a blast every time!

So I am here introducing myself as a newly A licensed skydiver. I have noticed a new nervousness in myself b4 a skydive with other people, I find this nervousness actually really awesome b/c once I leave the plane it's gone and all I can do is focus on trying to get to the formation and when it goes good it's an awesome feeling knowing I did it. But not making it kinda makes me upset with myself b/c I know I should be able to do it! Anybody else ever feel this?
-
I know these have been posted but thott I'd add mine. You know your a skydiver when you hear of tornados around, and think, "I wonder how long I could fly it?!

So last night i had this very vivid dream, i was jumping i deployed my chute at 3,500. It wasnt inflating and the slider wasnt coming down, so i chopped it probably at 2,000, pulled reserve but i impacted the ground before the reserve fully opened and i some how lived and i looked at the reserve and it was barely coming out of the bag when i hit. I guess what i learned from this dream is dont fight with a big ball of shit and just chop it as fast as possible. the weird thing is it was so vivid! Does anyone else ever have these really vivid dreams?
