  1. I know that Jim was the first to reach 17,000 jumps a few months ago, according to USPA, it was in Parachutist. (We are talking in the U.S.) I know he has people close on his heels, but I don't really think it's a race.... We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald
  2. I know this post is a bit late to your question, but if you email Mirage (find the right address at www.miragesystems.com) with the serial number, they'll tell you what model it is....could tell you what month and year it was made, I'm sure. They emailed and told me after I filled out a questionnaire, and I hadn't even asked! We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald
  3. Who was the rig made by? We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald
  4. Uh, just so you're aware, FedEx is BASED in TENNESSEE and sends a lot of their packages through there.... I wouldn't exactly call what you wrote on here "constructive criticism".... We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald
  5. Yeah, those two guys have 30,000+ jumps each, SUPPOSEDLY. I've heard that some people who see them on the ground all the time doubt that. I DO know that Jim Wallace is #3 in overall jumps, he has 17,000+ at the moment, and whenever he isn't working (i.e. tandems, AFF, demo jumps, etc.) he is doing fun jumps! We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald
  6. Perris has some great deals! Regular weekend jump: $20 Weekday jump: $16 Buy a $1000 block of tickets, you get 65 which equals out to $15.39 AND you can pay with a credit card. Not to mention all the other deals they have throughout the year.... We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald
  7. Actually, I've done 6 CRW jumps at Perris now (and have been called a CRW pup, a CRWton, and a CRW slut) and they actually yell at everyone else, "F*** the freefallers!"
  8. I think it also completely depends on the boogie. The Jack, Off to Perris boogie at Perris last week was held at a normal dropzone, you could exit last if you were going to pull higher, and you had the normal size landing area, but you got $15 jumps, helicopter, balloon, and DC-3 jumps were available, great organizers, etc. So you just have to find out what all the boogies are about.......... We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald
  9. Really? I saw the movie, I thought they had cut it out, maybe I blinked. That is in bad taste, though... We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald
  10. Exactly They used the stunt that Harry O'Conner (do I have the name right?) died making for Triple X, though at least they dedicated the movie to him... We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald
  11. Oh, that movie. I read about it in incidents but had forgotten the name of the movie....thanks for the refresh. And I still have no idea about your question.
  12. Could you be a little more specific? I have no idea what the movie is even about, let alone what the parachute scene is about.... (of course, this means I won't be able to answer your question, but I'm still curious enough to want to know what's being talked about). We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald
  13. Mabe I'm wrong, but does seem that skydivers are more likely to have addictive personalities than the rest of the population. However, I've met a few skydivers who know they have that problem, and skydiving in a sense has taken the place of other addictions, and they don't smoke/drink/toke at all. Basically, they seem more aware and on top of things. Of course, we all know how most skydivers like to drink.... We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald
  14. Don't think anyone answered your question..... It's the Conatsers that own PERRIS VALLEY SKYDIVING that have plans to buy a DC-9, I believe. We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald
  15. I didn't think anyone was even going to be there tomorrow, I don't think they'll be waiting around for people. I don't know, I won't be there, I'll be with my family here at home. But have fun if you do jump! We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald
  16. I heard at Perris that it costs something like $8/minute to run an Otter -- that including plane and repairs, fuel, pilot, etc. Though I'm not sure that covers the land the dz is on and the extra freebies they give us like the perriscam and net access and such. That's a large dz, of course.... We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald
  17. EXACTLY!! I'm an English teacher, I'm trying to teach you all irony. Now that would be verbal irony. Although some would label it outright sarcasm, as I knew I was saying something ironic, it can't be ironic. I knew YOU would catch that, Quade. And my jumpsuit got all scrubbed up and it looks just like new, thank you!
  18. Just don't land on your butt and you won't have to worry about it!!! (Sorry, didn't have any useful info about Perris to share....) We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald
  19. Sure, I still want to be told....so's I can stop offending people. We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald
  20. Actually, it is to me, as I'd rather have someone tell me I have a booger hanging out of my nose. That's less likely to make someone else's life unpleasant as bad breath can, right? We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald
  21. Hey, that's nicer than telling someone their breath stinks, right?
  22. I have a couple little friends, not that little, and they're already taken, sorry! We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald
  23. My friends and I know what we mean when we tell each other, "Ew, you have SMB (sour milk breath)." And I'm 95% sure that that comes from being dehydrated, which most Americans are.... Anyone else here know what I'm talking 'bout? We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald
  24. Oh, you are more woman than most, Quade. Me, I'm only a woman and a half... We were never feeling bored because we were never being boring. -Zelda Fitzgerald
