For me, great guitar work isn't always about fretboard pyrotechnics, but more about tone & how it fits the song and hits my "inner chord". To name a few: David Gilmour's "Comfortably Numb" Don Felder & Joe Walsh on "Hotel California" George Harrison on "Let it Be" (Let it Be non-Leslie album version) Eric Clapton on "Have You Ever Loved A Woman" Roger McGuinn's 12 string Rickenbacker on "My Back Pages" For slide guitar: Gary Rossington on "Ballad of Curtis Loewe", & whoever is playing slide on Bob Seger's "Like A Rock"

Looking for jumping buddy/group in July at Lodi
Rickendiver replied to Fronius's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Also check out Bay Area Skydiving. Byron airport is about 45 minutes from Lodi, and has a real friendly environment. Smaller than either Lodi or Skydance, but they do have a King Air. Look me up if you do - I'll jump with ya! -

Saw both Beatles Sullivan appearances! My parents thought they were long haired freaks - but then they saw the Stones, and suddenly the Beatles weren't so bad -

Wind Tunnel training for 50+yr olds before AFF
Rickendiver replied to troyg321's topic in Wind Tunnels
55 year old data point here, for what it's worth. I just went through the AFF training & got the A license this year. I had 1 do-over level for not sticking my legs out far enough (backsliding was my issue). For me, landing the canopy was much easier to learn than basic freefall. Of course, I had the advantage of already knowing the beer rules Sometimes old age and treachery trump youth and ambition -
Go for it! I'm 55, and just got my A a few months ago - I'm having a blast!

Well, now that you mention it, I haven't flown a plane since I started jumping. Oh yeah, I'm hooked! Just wish I'd got into this like 20 years ago.....bad landings wouldn't hurt as much!

After flying airplanes for 35 years, I woke up one day and decided I wanted to learn to skydive. I love everything about this sport! ( well, maybe not packing new ZP). I started AFF last August, and now have my A license and about 70 jumps.
