  2. Luigi is still a badass. doesn't matter if it's been done or not, it's excellent exposure for skydiving. jumping with a wing loading of 2.3 into a corvette with an 18 mph cross wind, I'd say that he qualifies as badass. Although I have less than 300 jumps, a 1.07 wing loading and an old ass - anyone jumping like that is a badass. Blue skies BTW - i'll suck down a BEER! Brian

  4. Vanity @ it's best. Me landing. Brian
  5. Dave, are you real tall? you don't look like you weigh 255 lbs. i'm guessing 255 + 30 for gear = 285 lbs. to make your wingload 1.67:1 on a 170 sq. ft. canopy. Brian
  6. I want to be a post whore! damn - only 909 more to go. Brian
  7. look in the skydiving newspaper Brian

  10. i don't roll the nose, and mine takes 1000-1200 feet to open. took me a while to get used to it opening. Brian
  11. Once you're off student status, Chickasha is fine for jumping. Lift tickets are cheap. Powerlines are about 150 yards from the landing zone, they actually split the landing area from the grass runway. I did my first 3 SL jumps there. They still use round reserves, just if you were curious. Hinton is my home drop zone. Nice family DZ, new facility, decent student gear. Great instructors. They're expanding into AFP program soon. We live south of Hinton about an hour and a half and only 45 minutes from Chickasha and we go to Hinton more often. Once you're off student status, and have you're own gear - either one would be fine. Altitude is Altitude! Hey BTW it's worth the drive to SD Dallas in Whitewright too. Super Otter and Caravan! 14K in 15 minutes. Brian

  13. sounds like a safe change. That reminds me, a guy in high school wanted to have a "cool" nickname - so he made one up for himself. He tried to convert to Buck at the beginning of the school year instead of Todd. I thought that was kinda weird
  14. Cool! I was on the list too! Patients is a virtue! Brian
  15. we rode on some at the convention that had music - usually so loud and staticy to be heard over the motors. Brian

    phobia

I'm not a big fan of spiders, either. My 5 year old daughter tells everyone "Daddy will scream like a girl, if he sees a spider" So, it's an entertaining phobia at least. Was and still am scared of heights! Skydiving hasn't cured it - but, the heights (10K ^) in skydiving seem surreal, so it's that last 100 feet or so before landing that bothers me. Really, it's heights without a safety rail that bothers me most - like cliffs. Hands are sweaty just thinking about and typing this! Brian
  17. Got one 9.9% interest. BUT - has a cool picture on it - Four-way round. Worth getting just for the cool picture. Brian
  18. A tad over 2K (2100-2200) That's below my comfort level with 86 jumps. It was a 2nd attempt at the pull, first pull of the pilot chute (BOC) didn't come out, hand just slipped off. My canopy snivels a long time, so I was talking to the canopy - "come on, open quick" It did, slammed me! But, I knew it was open! Brian
  19. SHIT! first you say it then you do it!
