Since you brought it up (dream rig), I thought I'd let you all know that I just got mine! Brand new everything: Javelin J3 all stainless, fully articulated and custom stitching...Sabre 170, and a PDR 160 with a cypres! The damn thing is bad...! Gonna put it's first couple miles on it this weekend!!! Good luck with yours :) "pull high! It's lower than you think..."

Not any more. Last Saturday on Safety Day we were told that from here on out all students will be just that until they have an A license and must be accompanied by another licensed jumper until they've received it. Even if that means it takes 40 jumps until the damn thing gets to them by mail...Can anyone help me out with this one...? "pull high! It's lower than you think..."

Yeah, me too. I like to just roll them up like an extension cord. It's quicker and it still gets the job done. I need all the extra packing time I can get...brand new zp! "pull high! It's lower than you think..."

I just picked up a new rig with a sabre 170, and I weigh about 230 out the door... I put just over a 100 jumps on a 190 and felt really comfortable with my abilities, but it's been 4 months since my last jump and it was on the 190. Anyone else load a Sabre at about the same level? How does it respond for you? "pull high! It's lower than you think..."

Me too! On my level 5 jump the first time the JM let me go, I geeked out a little and tensed up. Chipped like a mofo! Allz ya gots ta do is chill out brotha... "pull high! It's lower than you think..."

Sorry Grasshopper, I wasn't trying to come off as being a prick. The people of DZ.com raised a lot of valid points in regards to my statement. I didn't mean literally that I couldn't ever see this happening, but generally I keep pretty accurate figures on most things like this. IMHO, I think attention to detail is pretty important, especially doing what we do. Anyway, I'll be sure and take a little more time before issueing a statement like that again. I think I saw what you're talking about on the Discovery channel, however it wasn't the video guy it was the tandem student that pulled the rip cord and saved them both. It might be a different story, but it sounds pretty close to me. "pull high! It's lower than you think..."

I'm a bit confused, and maybe amused all at the same time. I was just reading a post in the gear forum and it said something like this: Someone was asking about a specific container and one of the replies was like; Yeah, I've got 50-100 jumps on one of those... What's the deal with that? How can you have 50-100 jumps on anything?! Either you've got a certain number or you don't, right? Whatever, just thought it was a little weird. "pull high! The only way to know for sure is to experiment with different tweaks ya know. Merrick, your's opens nice with those tweaks cause I made many a jumps on it and seemed to be able to fine tune it that way. You'll have to do the same with the tri. "pull high! It's lower than you think..."

I just wanted to say, for the record, that I have a new found love for good 'ol Uncle Sam again! He's decided to buy me a new rig this year! It seems he made a mistake in his financial calculations and has offered to pick up the tab on my brand new setup...What a guy! Anyone else have any luck with tax refunds this year?
