LOL The beast had an exponential growth curve only 2 days ago. It crashed to a level where it was still worth 3x what it was only months before. I would not be so hasty to suggest that reasonable growth is going to cease. It is never going to be significant? LOL. You should be a Billionaire with insight like that. It is a relativley finite rescource like gold. If you understand a little bit about how bitcoins are 'mined' and how that relates back to the security of the currency. Then you may not be so quick to judge. All finances are now depandant on online servers, computers and networking. Bitcoin may well be more secure than the dollar in times to come. We can only wait and see. These guys made Bank. There are more to come. It is quite clear that a new currency cannot maintain such rapid growth. It can still grow however and it can grow faster than dollars or Gold. The exponential growth curve of a couple of days ago is due to interest in the currency. Not because it is such a poorly designed system. The larger the pool the smoother the transitions will be. In the meantine people will ride the wave, some will make shitloads and others will lose out. One thing is for sure, it is not going to disapear unless it is forced to by those it is competing against.

On Mt. Gox. There are other servers and they are growing in number. So one can still trade Bitcoin. This whole debacle is only going to make Bitcoin stronger, more secure and a better investment. These bitcoin millionaires will invest in these, it is a revolution not just a new commodity. Libertarian principals are the drive, though financial benefits certainly help. Gold figures are being manipulated downwards right now when historically they would be going up. If tangible goods are being manipulated by the 'knob tweakers' like this then this only makes bit coin more attractive. "Not a good time to buy gold right now" they are saying, while central banks are buying in bulk. I was going to purchase some gold and silver when I first heard about the Cyprus gig. I heard it 2 days earlier on alternative media websites than I did on the mainstream media BTW, this should have been a prime opportunity to invest in gold. I am super glad I didn't. I bet there are plenty of people that are super disappointed that they did. If they had invested that money in Bitcoin they would have made money and not lost it. Investors hate losing money. It is peculiar that this is being touted as a reason not to invest in the currency. The returns were only poor for those that did not know what they were doing, this is the same in any market. The returns have been fantastic fro those that invested at the right time.

Yet... There are some serious millionaires being produced out of this. The bankers are too busy keeping their fractional ponzie scheme going/afloat to keep up with nerd libertarians that actually have a better system. It will just take more time for others to gain confidence in bitcoin. Seeing millionaires emerge is great for confidence. See how the status quo is opposed to it, though they cannot refute the facts. Growth is growth, even if it spikes and drops as it has, the trend is still upwards. http://www.bloomberg.com/video/bitcoin-value-plunges-after-cyber-attack-HO7aFuM7Q_eDb12g9ow7vw.html Listen to what is said here, are the sataus quo so confident? I don't think so, the young man seems to be the ,most confident here.

http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/mtgoxUSD#rg360ztgSzm1g10zm2g25zv Actually intelligent investors might try the field with a fraction of their portfolio and the way this currency is structured it is growing very well and will likely become an means to create wealth like any other investment. Soros, Bernanke or someone of that ilk are probably behind the current bitcoin DDOS attacks. Someone is and it is not Anonymous, though I bet those pimple faces will currently be finding out who it is and I assume they will announce who once they work it out. They are the DDOS kings. Investors like growth, rapid growth. The currency is bubbling, 400% growth in 30 days Investors love that shit. Even with the crash is it still worth more than it was a month ago. The price is already stabilising while the attacks continue. http://techcrunch.com/2013/04/10/bitcoin-crash/ Now what happens when Wall St has a crash like this...?
-
LOL, If you purchased one number of bit coins in June 2011 at $32 you would have lost 3/4 of that investment 2 months later...though if you held onto them until now they would be worth 3x the origional investment at the lowest price of the recent crash. So still great gains for less than two years. Now if you had purchased those same coins at the August 2011 low and sold them immediately before it crashed recently you could have gained value 38x your investment. All investments have risks, I am sure there are plenty looking at Bitcoin for this type of 'gambling', you don't see Casinos struggling... Better odds than a poker machine Now look at quantitative easing and ultra low interest rates in the Fed system and tell me how dollars are so sound?

It is more than that, it is a revolution. http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2013/apr/10/bitcoin-new-high-losing-160 Global currency is the endgame for the 'knob tweakers' that control the banks. Bitcoins and Gold Dinar etc. are not part of that agenda so what ever means deemed necessary will be used to ensure they do not succeed. What is intended and what actually happens are not always the same. The Oligarchs are losing at present due to the ability of us minions to share information.
-
Looks like quite a good investment to me... http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2013/apr/10/bitcoin-new-high-losing-160 Do you say that suggesting the currency supply of dollars or any modern currency is not also subject to a cataclysmic failure? The fractional banking system we are all propping up with our 'faith' is much more volatile and is not so far from failure.

Tips/input on packing a zp 86 jvx...
westcoastSD replied to base_eagle's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Make sure the grommets are on the slider stops. If your JVX does not have stabilisers the rear slider stops will be much lower down than usual. The slider should be massive. I do not even flake mine much of the time, I simply shake it, quarter the slider ( this is where I put my fist right down the middle on the pack job to get the slider right down in there. Make sure the ears of the slider sit so they stop air flowing into the pack job and onto the bottom skin. Not having the grommets sitting on the stop will cause slider rebound = hard opening. I think I have had only one of these in a what must be over 1500 JVX openings. the air rushing into the pack job by not positioning the slider (and ears) will cause a hard and uneven pack job... I reckon you are getting slider rebound. When you bring your tail up to wrap the pack job, use a very light 'karate chop' action to make sure the slider is on the stops at the rear of the pack job... Just my opinion... -
He said that DHS must explain why they did it. This included an order of 1.6 billion rounds of ammo. Watch his body language when the question is asked, does it look as though this is the first time he has been told about it? In saying so he is stating that he is aware of it, he acknowledges it and there is no doubt about it. He is a congressman after all. This stuff is on the record, without the purchase orders you will not be satisfied. That is your denial. Why is there even one of these MRAP's on the streets of America, there are photos of them all over the Internet. https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1C1GGGE_enNZ527NZ527&q=dhs%20armored%20vehicles&bav=on.2,or.r_cp.r_qf.&bvm=bv.44770516,d.aGc&biw=1092&bih=499&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=FcRhUZLnDqquiQeGtIDQBg

Semantics, sounds like lawyers talk...LOL Do you think 15+ Trillion of debt increasing is something to snicker at or is just some whack conspiracy? Calculate the interest payments on that! Printing money works for a short period of time but when confidence is lost in the dollar, the artificial value will crash. So for the US$ the crash will be worse than most others. The dollar should not be worth what it is today, it is propped up by faith. Talk to the Austrian economists, they seem to be the only ones that understand. They predicted the dot com bubble and the housing bubble bursts... They were called whack jobs also at the time. Afterwards was there any recognition, did anyone learn? I would not be so confident that widespread civil unrest is so far fetched or far away. Why do you think they are purchasing thousands of armoured vehicles for use on american streets? Land of the free?
-
The DHS is purchasing it all. They are also purchasing thousands of assault rifles and armoured vehicles. You do not need a tin foil hat to see that they are preparing for civil unrest. Those that are called tin foil hatter's have been warning about this for years. Gun control first, then gun confiscation. When you see these driving down your street; http://www.navistardefense.com/NavistarDefense/vehicles/maxxpromrap/maxxpro_mrap The you might say this; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3K49vP-1LKg The world is a hairs breath from financial ruin, with that comes complications... Serious complications.

Marijuana legalization wins majority support in nationwide poll
westcoastSD replied to OHCHUTE's topic in Speakers Corner
It will not happen as it will put many industries out of business. Cannabis oil cures cancer, it cures many ailments. The fibres produce more pulp per hectare than trees. The seeds provide all the amino acids necessary for human life and it is the only species in the plant kingdom that does so. There are many, many benefits. Nixon knew about many of them before the war on drugs began. He made that information classified. Too many big shots would lose out if it becomes legal. So it won't. http://www.cureyourowncancer.org/testimonials.html -
Terminal Petra opening video

I believe the first competition the Peregrine (prototype) was flown in, was the 3rd Dubai competition in 2011. Jay Moledski bought it out mid comp and the rest of the PD team were flying sail comp velocities. -
Can you provide evidence of that? MX issues and pilot issues are often combined to cause a plane to go down. If what you say is the case, I would be interested to see what happened. Engine out >>> Crash or Loss of control >>> Crash... Planes have issues all the time, it is how they are dealt with that counts.,

Not much when you talk about your experience there, but when you talk about the experience of the DZ then that is a different story. Almost 50 years of experience at the parachute centre, that is 5 decades... Hundreds of thousands of loads. How many fatalities due to aircraft? None.

Terminal Petra opening video
westcoastSD replied to westcoastSD's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
? Looking at the video they all had either HMA 400 (black) or Vectran 300 (orange). I believe brake lines on NZA canopies are Vectran 600 (or so) for safety. You don't want your dental floss rubbing against the rings on your risers... -

Does anyone like the new rules?
westcoastSD replied to morris's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
We are in the process of developing a swoop pond, this swoop pond will be built to IPC specifications. The New Rules will hopefully allow us to do this with ease. We have a great location with great geography for a pond but the 372 metres required with the 'old' rules would make it much more expensive. We have 350 metres to work with but we want 50 metres of water before the gates for safety. Those that say they can't train because they have not got a pond... do as we are doing, make a club, find a friendly DZ owner (usually the hardest part) and apply for funding though public grants etc... You can also use those grants to subsidise jump tickets for club members. The new rules make life a lot easier for anyone wanting to develop a facility to hold events. My own personal belief is that popping up 20 meters and thumping yourself on the deck 200 metres away is much less 'swooping' than staying below the bollards and actually swooping the ground. Dubai last year saw 14 injuries in one distance round due to the 'old rules', and in accuracy there are seldom injuries. When there is even a slight head wind most people are putting as much power through the gates as they can... so the 'power event' point that I keep hearing is moot. I am with Ian Bobo...
