  1. There's a craft chocolate shop down the road from me in Harvard Square called J.P. Burdick's. They have these drinks called Iced Chocolates and are absolutely intense. Now, I'm a chocolate fiend, and I could only drink about a third of the drink before it was too much. It's very very rich, and not all that sweet. They also make Cafe Mochas with the same chocolate base and it about blows your mind. A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All

  4. Gee, I haven't read the book, and I don't want to blow any money on it. Would you mind summarizing the controversial conclusions the book draws and the points of Christian doctrine it questions so that I can get in on the conversation, too? A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  5. I think it's because they told you not to laugh. It's sort of like when someone tells you not to think of a green bra, or whatever, your mind can't stop thinking of one. A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All

  7. Unfortunately, I'm not so sure about that. But I think you're right. Iraq is a mess, and I don't think America can clean it up by itself. A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  8. It is perfectly reasonable to only want to discuss a book with people that read it. After all, discussing the summary of a book is exactly that, a summary, not the book itself. There's that, and there's also the fact that when one prefaces asking for a summary by announcing that he or she would never pay good money to buy anything produced by the book's author (and, it seems clear to me, is even unwilling to go to the library and actually read it for free), it suggests that they're not actually that interested in hearing the ideas, but are rather looking for some cannon fodder. So, JohnRich, if you are actually as interested in how things might work according to Moore as you say you are, I repeat: read the book. A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All

  15. I just finished reading Michael Moore's new book last night and really enjoyed it. While I certainly lean to the left, I have been getting tired of the vitriol spouted by pundits on both sides. Franken is on the right track, but the anger gets rather tiresome. Even Stupid White Men sounded like whining and fatalistic shoulder-shrugging. What pleased me about Moore's new book is that the final few chapters really express why liberal political agendas will benefit all, especially those that want to keep their hard-earned money. 18. I wouldn't say it's a partisan tactic by any means, but I think that when one feels that they are losing an argument, they attempt to discount their opponent through means other than by engaging their (the opponent's) logic. A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All

  25. The reason it's so hard to be whatever it is that the media, commercial, TV shows, etc. tell you to be is because these people do not exist in real life. The best you can do is be yourself, and that's all I'd ever expect from anyone. A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
