  1. Get yourself an N3 for visual. It logs your jumps, has a backlight for night jumps, you can configure drop zones, aircrafts and so on using your computer. You can upload all the data it collets from your jumps to your computer as well. No battery changes needed. just charge it with a mini usb. It holds power for well over a week of jumping if its not to cold. Then get an audible like a optima, solo or whatever for your helmet.

    Freeflysuit

I'm a fairly fresh jumpeer who started jumping last year. I have about 80 jumps and for the first 40 i used a crappy Pittz suit. I got tired of it and ordered a Sonic V.2. I love it. It have far more range than the pittz suit. both my tracking and sit skills have improved after I got my new suit. I paid the rush fee on the suit, and it took about 2 weeks for them to make it for me.
  3. Skydive Voss in Norway! Check out Voss 2.0 on vimeo or youtube :)
  4. Thank you Mike =) It looks like I have to do some research on this one
  5. Thanx. I'll check out flight prices and stuff to Chicago :) I'm going back to FL but i'll wait until january/february I think.
  6. Hi guys! I live in Norway and i'm thinking about taking a trip over the atlantic to jump for 2-3 weeks. Where should I go? I spent 3 weeks in z-hills during march. I loved the DZ but i've been told it's very hot in florida during this time of year? What would you Suggest?

  8. I-34 is the way to go. I have an I-34 with a Safire2 169 and a optimum 160. Fits perfect
  9. Ok. I can see your point. I will never be a good canopy pilot because i'm using a digital alti and not an analog I only have 52 jumps and just got my B license so im still a student imho. Offcourse i set up my pattern according to the wind, but i feel more confident with an alti i can read my altitude more precicely off. For me the analog showed to general altitude below 1k feet. I did a canopycourse with martin sebastian i z-hills, and he told me to start doing 90' frontrisers on my 22. jump, so I think I might be both a good skydiver and canopy pilot some day
  10. In my case, at least an digital alti works much better. As a student I used a regular analog. My landing pattern was ok, but i almost never landed at the same spot, regardless of believing to be at the same altitude at fixed points in the pattern. Off student status I got an N3 and my landing pattern became better and I felt i had more control on my altitude in the landing pattern. I also use an optima 2 both for freefall and canopy alarms. As for freefall imho the digital alti is much easier to read. All the features in this alti helps me to fill out my logbook in the end of the day. It keeps track of exit alti, deployment, freefalltime, canopytime, and it has a clock on it. It even tells you how long it is till you reach exit-altitude. After I took my aff the students at my DZ now is equipped with both digital altis and a dytter. This a after a testperiod which showed everybody that the students landings and landing patterns became better while using this "tools".
  11. My first rig. Wery satisfied! I-34 with a optimum 160 and a safire 2 169. black hardware, mesh backpadding, floating laterals an ekstra wide legstraps. supercomfy. LOVE IT
  12. Come to Voss, norway and do you AFF course! Book the course june 16th, and plan for a two week stay. Then you most probably get your A-licence during the first week, and the week after that is the extremesportsweek with lots of fun stuff going on :D course starts on saturday, and you start jumping on monday. Their course includes some windtunnel as well. There is actually some courses wich have done all their 7 AFF level jumps in one day there. Great DZ if i might say so. http://www.skydivevoss.no/en/ http://vimeo.com/35979987
  13. Hi. As you can see I'm a fresh jumper,so I havent been there before, but we are a group of 25-30 guys (and girls) from Norway who is going over there in a few weeks. a friend of mine have been there a few months and just got his AFFI rating thre. He says he loves the place so i really look forward to it. Just hope it's a bit warmer than it's up here
  14. Thanx for all your info, I totally forgot about this thread...haha. Just two more weeks now, and my season can finally start again. damn winters in norway Just got word from VSE that my new custom rig is finished as well. CAN'T WAIT TO GET THERE Allthough winters up here suck i really look forward to my DZ opens in the end of april. Here is a prewiew is some of you would concider a trip to skandinavia some day :) http://vimeo.com/35979987 edit: added video.
  15. This is not a question about money. I have a budget for gear, wich includes new rig, cypres and canopies. I allso have enough cash to do more jumps this year than I have spear time to do. I'm just wondering wich would be the best digital altimeter. I dont Like the analog and I think a digital is easier to read. I'm now i the process of deciding between the N3 and the viso2 But some of you have PM'ed me and given me really good inputs on the topic so I think I know what I'll be going for. Thanx to all of you.
  16. why? because I'm a fresh jumper and can't read a digital?
  17. The used market here in norway is second to none, so I'll be getting a new one, but I'm actually looking more and more at the N3. I will allso check out the possibility for a regular analog wristmonted alti and some kind of device with loggingfunctions for helmet or pocket. thanx for all your feedback :)
  18. Thanx for all your inputs! The reason I'm looking at these is the loggingfunctions. As the altitrack is an digital with the "analog" disc i really like it, but the price is a bit stiff. I have used a regular analog for most of my jumps so far,but I tried a viso for a few jumps and i found it easier to read actually. I guess I'll just have to borrow a few different altis and make an decision based on that. I've been told the neptune is a better digital alti than the viso, will try to get one on my hand and try it as well :) As for reading a regular analog or an altitrack I can't say there is a difference, they both look the same.
  19. Go for it :D the ekstremsportweek and the voss freefly festival is two great events you should experiece some time!
  20. Here's a new video from my awesome DZ
  21. If not, something i highly doubt, I guess my group will pull off a decent party anyway
  22. It's all taken care of. they have mentioned us coming at their website as well actually. One of the instructors at my DZ is actually there right now, so I think the organizing will be in place when we arrive.
