Ummm... I can think of LOTS of reasons.

Sweet :-) That would be my dream house...

Thanks, I always forget this stuff ;-) Luckily most of my clocks set themselves when the time changes... So I only have to be confused for a few minutes about why two of them (microwave and alarm clock) don't match the others... I actually just woke up in the middle of the night (about 3AM) and noticed the clocks were different and was wondering if there had been a time change... So where did I go to find out? Dropzone.com of course! And sure enough, there was the answer. Now, if only I could get sleepy again... :-(

I'd say skydiving is pretty mainstream at this point... Seems like everyone I meet lately has either done a tandem, knows someone who has done a tandem, or knows someone who is a regular jumper... I guess that would be considered "mainstream"??? Oh well, doesn't make much difference to me...

Just curious if you could elaborate on this a bit more, please? I've often wondered if the multi ever causes problems....

My thoughts are with all of Dwain's friends and family, and especially Karin... I just don't know what to say... What a terrible loss. Blue Skies, Dwain, Blue Skies... Keely

Whoa! I hate to break this to you, jtval, but you now have two heads! Oh wait, they do say that two heads are better than one...

I've been wondering where she was too! I miss sad sue. I don't even know her, but she seems awfully cool... Come back, sad sue! We miss you!

I grew up mostly in West Texas, always thinking I'd move to California when I was old enough to leave home. But sometime before that, I discovered Austin (TX) and fell in love with that town - so I moved there when I was 18 and lived there until I was 29... which is when I moved out here to California, where I am now (2 1/2 years later). I don't think it had anything to do with my age really, just time for a change. I don't think it's odd that you've lived in the same place all your life - maybe it means you're just happy there.

I've been thinking about Rob a lot for the last couple of days. I'm trying really hard to not be sad, but it's not working very well. He's not the sort of person you meet every day. I only knew him for a short while, yet it still feels like I lost a brother. I guess that's the kind of person Rob was though - everybody's brother. Ok, I'll work on smiling now - you're right, Rob would definitely want it that way.

Hey dude! This is the first I've heard of it too. Glad to hear everything went well.

Nice Photoshop work, whoever did that...

Did you see where the 12 year old girl just settled her suit for $2000? I've never gotten into the music-swapping because I was concerned to begin with. Went to Kazaa's website once, read through the stuff, and decided I didn't want to get involved... Can't say I'm totally innocent though - I've made copies of a couple of CD's before, which is basically the same thing - copyright infringement. (Should I be saying that on a public forum???) I'll probably buy mp3's though - I've just started looking into that - sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

That's a good point, but that was a fatality, and I believe the question is should names be publicized when it is just an injury???
-
Whoa! She looks totally different now. I thought she was way cool when I was a little girl.
-
You do have a good point... although I think the names are not really important if someone can accurately give the jumper's information - like number of jumps, wingloading, number of jumps on that canopy, if they are a pro-competitor or instructor, etc., etc., etc.,... So the name is not really as important as knowing what kind of experience they had... I see what you're saying though - if it is someone who is often on the cover of skydiving magazines or in some way considered an expert skydiver, etc., it would be nice for the public to know that these people sometimes get injured too and why. But I'd have to say I agree with the right to privacy - it should be up to each jumper if they want their name publicized after an accident.

LOL That's pretty funny.... I have "only a vague grasp of my rights"... and the offer to supply a proctologist if you don't already have one -
Just watch ol' Bandit run.... Have a safe trip, Lisa, and have lots of FUN!

I am not a vegetarian, but I do enjoy a lot of veggie dishes (my husband is a vegetarian, so we try to find things to cook that we both like)... My diet consists mostly of breads/grains and vegetables/fruits, but I do regularly eat dairy products and meat as well....
