True, and I wasn't arguing the logic of what some people see as evidence, only that they are using the word properly as it is defined in most dictionaries. It is evidence to them (even according to your definition), even if everyone else rejects it as evidence. Now of course if they want you (or anyone else) to accept their evidence, then it will probably need to be stronger than "a tree is proof that there is a god." I was just pointing out that they are not wrong in the use of the word.

I think some of you people are making up flavors that Tombstone doesn't really make. (Though I guess you could add toppings to one of their cheese pizzas.) I don't know if I've ever actually bought a Tombstone pizza though. I'm in love with the DiGiorno Ultimate pizzas; they're even better than most of the restaurant pizzas around here.

Well, I'm sure it can't be that big yellow thing in the sky. That thing uses all of its energy to keep circling around the Earth, so I doubt it has any extra energy to send our way.

I didn't write the definition. And it's similar to a lot of words in that it has more than one meaning. I agree. I don't see it as evidence of god, but others might.

Yes, you can. And that would be an accurate use of the word. It may be evidence to you that there is no God, whether anyone else agrees with you or not. I could say that I saw someone with a smile on his face, and that was evidence that he was happy. And it would be reasonable evidence in my mind. But someone else who may know that the guy just experienced some horrible tragedy - that person may see the guy's smile as evidence that he is putting on a facade. We both see the smile as evidence of something, but all that means is that we have come to a conclusion based on what we saw; it does not mean that either of our conclusions are correct.

You work for the evil Monsanto?

It is evidence to them. Right, so there is not much chance that their personal evidence will convince an atheist of the existence of God. (Which was probably your point in the first place, until I had to go into some silly semantics thing. )

I think there is a difference too. If they say that they see a flower as evidence of God, then that is accurate according to the dictionary definition of "evidence." ("A thing or things helpful in forming a conclusion or judgment." or "Something indicative; an outward sign.") To me, it might not be evidence of God, but to them it is, because it helped them come to the conclusion that there is a God. When using the word "evidence" in a non-scientific context, it does not necessarily imply something that has to be provable or even testable.

I believe when people talk about seeing evidence of God, they are not talking about scientific evidence; there is a difference.

I think it has something to do with the creepy PM's he's always sending me to tell me how he's not wearing any underwear under his bike shorts. That, and the "Remi's Ass" collection of photos I have on my computer.

You want to fork Hillary??? Umm... OK, to each his own.

I'm going to guess A7 as jtval, and A8 as Remster.

I remember seeing that recently... http://www.blueq.com/shop/item/114-productId.125838122_114-catId.117440521.html (I have the cat butt air freshener.)

Good morning to you too, Lisa. Funny, right before I woke up this morning, I was dreaming that I was chasing my four cats around the house, trying to put some sort of little costumes on them. It was becoming rather frustrating because the cats were not being cooperative (imagine that!), so I was relieved to wake up and realize it was just a dream. Fuck those uncooperative dreamland cats and their idiotic outfits.

I'd give you my number, but I suspect that you're dangerous.

10/10. I had to think for a sec on the trooper/trouper one, but other than that, it was easy. (Though I might have looked over a few of those if I hadn't been expecting to find mistakes.)

Amnesty International’s Ad Against Waterboarding
Shotgun replied to nerdgirl's topic in Speakers Corner
Are you sure of that? -
I've had two pairs of Merrells (hiking shoes, not boots), and I love them. And I have a couple other pairs of Merrell shoes that are not for hiking, which are also very comfortable. The first pair I bought in a store where I could try them on, but the rest I bought online, and they have all been true to size.

Well, there are the people who have no heads. I would imagine that they are pretty blind too. (They have no brains either, so at least they are not aware that they are blind.) And of course, the only people who are truly blind are those who don't share my beliefs.

An interesting quote from religioustolerance.org: http://www.religioustolerance.org/atheist.htm

Actually, I have a lot of skulls on the wall(s).

I saw that one on amazon, and it caught my eye too. Maybe I'll check it out.

Yeah, I don't think I could deal with having multiple husbands. So I'll just stick with having one husband and multiple boyfriends.

What part of Texas? I don't know any Texas women who would say anything like that (myself included ). We just bought a new pickup because we needed something that would pull our boat. We probably won't use the back of it very much until we get a camper shell put on it. I used to have a Ford Ranger with a camper shell, and I often used the back to carry stuff in.
