  2. awesome job! looks like both of yall had a great time!
  3. Once you make up your mind that you are going to do it, face the fear you have and forget about it. Once you get through school and are preparing to jump, focus on all your procedures and what you are going to do. Keep your mind on procedures and visualize your entire jump, exit, freefall, canopy and landing. It will help to block out the fear. Hope this helps some. Good luck.
  4. Good luck tomorrow if you're planning on jumping. Lord knows you have much more determination than I do. Hope everything goes better for you.
  5. Just a quick update. I did get to jump Saturday once. level 3 AFF. It went well and I passed. Kinda got a bad spot along with pretty strong winds and had to land in a bean field but landed safely.
  6. Well, I am no expert, but I can tell you that when you are finally able to breath a little better you will be very surprised at how much that will settle you entire body down a bit. Deep breathing in the plane and in freefall calms me down alot. Also, you might want to consider what you had to eat before your jump. I know it sounds stupid but if my blood sugar is low, the adrenaline seems to have more of an effect on my body: getting the jitters and feeling tense. I always have a soft drink with sugar and caffeine in it right before I go up. I would recommend trying this before any kind of medicine but thats just me. Hope this helps. Oh, I almost forgot, CONGRATULATIONS on your first jump!
  7. I looked at the link and from my experience most of the traits are spot on. Its funny how your mood will affect your choice in drinks.
  8. Well, I didnt know they were having a boogie but I will probably be there now that you mention it. I just like being around the airport and watching everyone do there thing. Its been fun. I was already excited but now Im even more excited. Thanks for the info.
  9. Just wanted to introduce myself real quick. I read some of the other newbie posts in this area and they all seem to have the same feelings I do. Did my first tandem 26 Sep. 2010 at West TN Skydiving. I was a little nervous but I knew it was for me and that I would get over the fear. As soon as the door went up all of the fear and anxiety was gone. Once I got in the door I knew I was committed and to just have fun. Didn't get back to jump until 7 August 2011. Another tandem since I did not get scheduled in AFF soon enough. Then on 19 August I got into AFF school. Did my first AFF on 20 August and level 2 on 7 September. Going back to do level 3 and hopefully level 4 (weather permitting) this Saturday. I am hooked. My father and older brother are pilots and I have shared some time with them in small planes (Cessna's, etc) since I was a boy. And I can honestly say that I feel more comfortable jumping out then trying to land. Landing in those little planes is nerve racking. I know this was a long post, but real quick I just want to give a shout out to everybody at WTS for making my experience into this sport a great one. Everyone has been very helpful, professional and knowledgeable. I am very glad that I only live a half hour away from this top notch DZ. Thanks guys.
