  1. I'm sure you know this and I don't know if you attempted to educate this NPS dirt bag. But climbers/jumpers come in many different shapes and forms and from a variety of backgrounds. Sure there is the occasional criminal type amoung us. But there is also the doctor, lawyer, engineer, tradesman, etc, etc etc. Skydiving and BASE jumping means different things to different people. Many of you out there are way more passionate about BASE jumping than I am. But that doesn't mean that I'm not interested in it, don't have fun doing it and possess reasonable knowledge, skill, and experience considering how short I've been skydiving and BASE jumping. So to have this NPS dirt bag stereo-typing all of us into one group just shows what an anus he/she really is. It's just too bad that some people in society would prefer to judge others thinking that we must all walk to the same tune in life instead of taking people for who they are. 2. I would let them continue in the exisiting relationship since I wouldn't want someone interferring with my relationship if the shoe was on the other foot. We can't always get what we want, and some/many relationships don't last. So why put yourself into a situation where others can get hurt and others may end up making enemies with you only because of your lust. Of course I'm not saying you're actually doing this to someone else ... or are you? Then again what do I know ... I'm single (which has it's pros and cons). 3. I see Speakers Corner in the future of this thread. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  4. Hey just because I'm unemployed and I haven't had a single bit for a job prospect in over a month now in a supposedly booming economy where everyone is working and jobs are plentiful, doesn't mean I'll go postal this holiday season. Oh and I'd love to get a job as a mailman, but not a mail sorter. Now if only I had easy access to a gun ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  5. Had I been around for WWII, then the answer is easy ... yes. Plus I understand why some people signed up after 9/11. But the Iraq War and 9/11 are two seperate can of worms. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  6. I knew I shouldn't have eaten lunch. I feel a nap coming on and I can't concentrate when I'm sleepy. At least I won't be surfing DZ.COM if I'm napping right? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  7. You are unique!!! Oh my new JVX is due in very very soon. But the WX here kind of sucks this time of year. Plus I won't be able to jump it if I don't get back to upgrading my skills and finding a job (I really shouldn't have ordered it now as it didn't help my current debt levels). But it's too late. Oh the TV is now turned off. Can I turn off DZ.COM ... soon ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  8. Having never met the kitty, so I can't say that I love her. But a little chaos in my life couldn't hurt. And as to her statements of feeling dirty. I took a shower today, so I think I am kind of clean. But I did watch the movie "Chasing Amy" last night as I can understand where she's coming from if it's even remotely in line with the theme of that movie. 9. I thought we were going out for a night of drinking? No wait, I've got to ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  10. I haven't earned any income since April of 2005, I spent a shit load of money jumping this summer (my fault, no one elses) and while I still have some savings, this move of mine back to Canada was ultra expensive and I've got some nasty credit card debts which don't make my savings look as large as they originally appeared to be. Time to look for work ... no wait I'm watching the afternoon news ... no wait I'm getting hungry. But no I've got to check my email and DZ.COM first. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  11. I swear that I've got a bad case of adult "A"ttention "D"eficient "D"isorder. Skydiving has been a blessing and a curse to this camper and part of the curse has hurt my professional career (I'm a 20 year software development person). I'm sitting here knowing that I need to buckle down and try and upgrade some of my knowledge of some software development skills that could possibly help me land a job (assuming these potential employers aren't playing the age discrimination game). So I start reading this technical information and the next thing you know my brain is losing interest and I'm off to check my email and/or DZ.COM (which is evil) instead of concentrating on the work at hand. I know I'm not alone here, otherwise you good people who are at work wouldn't be on here. But knowing that I'm not alone doesn't help things. I'm getting hungry. Time to watch the afternoon news, make some lunch and then I'll get back into my studying. Until it's time to check my email and of course DZ.COM. I'm fucked ... 12. I've only made 4 jumps in all of November myself (which is an all-time low for this camper). But I don't consider them to be miserable jumps. They were fun jumps and I was happy to see that my skill level didn't drop off that much (yet) due to my inactivity. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  13. A job in my field of experience in this new city of mine (or at least the knowledge that a job is not too far away). But I'm not getting any bites here ... or ... a good lay from a woman who can accept a skydiver/swooper/BASE jumper in their life. Chances of getting either one of these before x-mas is slim. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  14. How many times must this be said. Arguing on the internet is like the Special Olympics. Even if you think you've won your argument, you're still retarded. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  15. No you'll likely still be spending less as the US dollar is still more valuable than the Canadian dollar (the gap just isn't as big as it once was) assuming you're going to be here regardless. But if you were to make the special trip to just to buy your stuff, you may end up spending more for the travelling and lodging and all that. Make sure that when you leave the country you pick up a GST refund application and keep tab of what you buy and paid GST on (which is almost everything) as your GST is refundable for non-residents of Canada. Oh and if you can believe it, it's snowing here in Vancouver today. It's supposed to never snow here. Tons of rain in the winter, but no snow. I guess the climate is changing. PS: Make sure you research how much duties you may have to pay on your new gear when you cross back into the USA through US Customs. The duties alone (if they apply) may not make the purchase worthwhile. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  16. Damn dude that sucks and I'm sorry for your loses. I've outlined the last two since they happened while your friends were doing something that I assumed they loved and if/when we're going to check out from this beautiful world, isn't it best to do it while we're doing something that we loved. I'm happy that you kept your cool one morning last May and happy it didn't happen 30 minutes earlier while we were over much more hostile terrain. But if it had happen, at least it would have happened while we were doing something that we've loved. I love playing in the skies in an airplane as well as under canopy. I am at my most happiest up there. Oh and because of you, that weekend was responsible for renewing my interest in flying (who would have thought I'd get back into it despite our incident). I just wish I had more $$$ to do it all the time. Take care ... Steve Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  17. The GST is refundable. But that's about (or should I say a-boat) it. The American dollar is not doing as well as it has in the past, so buying Canadian for America isn't the bargain it's been in the past. But you'll have to do your own research as to this snowboarding gear as I have no idea how much those two commodoties go in each respective country. 18. Not playing hockey and/or drinking beer. Eh!!! Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  19. It means time for a January election since the ruling party (the Liberals) were defeated in the House of Commons today. As to what it means to me, there isn't a hope in hell that I will be voting Liberal as they are corrupt. Nor will I vote for the NDP since they are even more socialist than the Liberals (and I can't/wouldn't vote for the Bloc Quebecois). So unless I vote for an independent candidate (not likely) I guess some of you know who I'll be voting for. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  20. I'm glad you understand. And this is not just an American problem. It's a problem for all of North America. Every dominate society in human history has fallen. The USA is no different. How's your Manderin (sp?) and Cantonese? It better be good since we won't be speaking much English in the board rooms in the foreseable future. Manufacturing in North America is almost non-existent and while "yes" China had exploited it's work force, they don't care they have enough labor to exploit and neither does corporate America care. Viewing the poverty levels in America should be a sign the the wealthy doesn't give a shit about anybody other than the almighty dollar. God (if there even is a god) help us here in North America. We're in trouble ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  21. :0:0 It's only been 8 days since my last jump(s), but it seems like an eternity. I likely could have jumped yesterday, but I didn't thanks to a Grey Cup hang over partying with "Pop" on Friday night. Oh well ... at least I still have an extra $130 in my pocket (on average I've jumped 4 times per day here in Vancouver the couple of days I have jumped at $30+ dollars per jump). Hmmm ... maybe not so much as I spent a good $50 Friday (I think Pop spent even more) and another $40 today on drinks during Grey Cup Sunday (Canada's version of the Super Bowl). Hmmm ... $90 on two days of drinking ... I guess there's more to life than jumping. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  22. Waving back at you. I ride a Honda CBR600F3 (yes it's a crotch rocket) and I wave at all motorcyclists (okay not sure where I stand with mopeds, but cruisers and crotch rockets get the wave) and I have a pet peeve with the people who don't wave back because we're riding different types of machines. As you said, we're on two wheels and it doesn't matter if you're on a cruiser or a crotch rocket. We're all brothers and sisters compared to the four wheelers who want to kill us. Turkey Jumps

Never said I was the sharpest crayon in the box. Despite the fact that I'm the one who landed right next to the really nasty branches, I guess I got off lucky. Next time I'm going to land straight instead of turning left. It seemed like a good idea at the time until I realized how close I came to that shit. Turkey Jumps

If I told you, I'd have to kill you. So no comment. But there should be a shit load of Turkey Day jumpers out in Moab right now. But the last time I checked, there was no wireless internet support on the good cliffs of Moab. Plus I'm sure the guys/gals were too busy getting drunk last night to be bothering posting online.
