    I've owned bikes for 40+ years, but have never been a fan of scooters.........just not enough power to get out of the way if when some cager does something stupid. Why not look at a 250cc dual-purpose bike instead ? Relatively light-weight, great gas mileage, and response when you twist the throttle. And built to last. ETA : Ooops.....everyone replied at the same time, with the same advice. At least I'm in good company.

    John D MacDonald Thomas Harris (the Lecter books and Red Dragon) Jeffrey Archer Lifelong devotee of Stephen King, but I think Michael Crichton is the best writer ever. Not only is his work incredible, but his research was impeccable. Every one of his books spurred me to learn more about whatever subject he was writing about. And another vote for Manchester.
