  1. I certainly can't draw from my own experiences (unless you want to count that one time accidental 3-way headdown I stumbled my way into
  2. Oh man, I'm tellin' ya!! There must be like a flight training school out there or something..... there's at least 3 different cessnas flying over our house a hundred times a day, not to mention the every once in a while glimpse of the king air. It's torture I tell ya' TORTURE!! "Peace & Blue Skies!" Edited by Merrick on 3/23/01 07:16 AM.

    Now I get it!!!

ROFL - Man, it's been YEARS since I've seen that.... I coulda' sworn it was Nymph.... Maybe not! "Ni Ni!"
  4. Yeah, definitely thanks for clearing that one up.... I knew you spent most of your weekend with your cousins, so I was REALLY beginning to wonder about you! LOL "Peace & Blue Skies!"
  5. Hell, I don't know... We had a huge Red & white one, I thought the hole was to stick your head through to invoke a beating by Ms. Jackson (scary P.E. Teacher)... either that or a 5th grader would zing a dodgeball at your head.... "ahhhh, good times!"

    Canopies

I also jump a sabre 190, but I haven't experienced any hard openings yet. I have had end-cell closure on a few jumps, some off-heading openings, & one SERIOUS off-heading opening.... but I chalk all that up to lack of packing experience. "Peace & Blue Skies!"
  8. Congrats Diver... Glad to hear you finally got to jump again. I know I've certainly been giving you're old Sabre a workout (or maybe it's been giving me the workout)..... Either way, I'm still lovin' it! I got a pretty good swoop out of her this weekend, right up until I paniked & stuck my left arm out to catch myself.... not to cool when you're still about a foot off the ground. LOL Ahhh well, knew I'd get that new jumpsuit dirty sometime!
  9. Pam just started jumping her Triathlon, and just to be clear... they are also available in entirely ZP fabric, because that's what her's is... and yes, it's very easy to pack!
  10. LOL - Well, That only happened that once but I'm still am nervous about other people jumping my pack-jobs. I mainly did it so you wouldn't have to cram it in your bag or pack it up before you went.

    I did it!!

Hey Girlie!! Pam & I were both really glad we got to meet you this weekend.... You and your family are great people!

    FEAR? No Fear!

ROFL - You realize that as soon as you sit on the F3 you've pretty much ruined it for the 500.

    FEAR? No Fear!

Yeah, it's definitely sad when so many lives are snatched from this world for such stupid reasons. Hell, it doesn't even have to be on the street.... I know (knew) a kid that got killed in a head on collision with a pickup truck in a pasture somewhere.... He was on a four-wheeler, probably not his smartest hour. Ya' know... so did I! ROFL "Peace & Blue Skies!"
  17. Don't worry guys, I can get in to edit her web-page... I'll hook ya' up! "Peace & Blue Skies!"

    FEAR? No Fear!

Actually, it was a 749cc that maxed out at about 182. That's cool man, if you can get that sweet of a deal on the 500cc I'd definitely say go for it, but if that falls through somehow or another, I'd certanly consider the f3... they're a really good bike, a little rigid in corners (and a little slow), but overall a great bike, especially for a beginner. Don't think that I'm trying to sway you into buying something that you very well may not be able to handle, these are just my opinions... don't know if I could live with myself if I found out that you got a brand new ZX-1 or something & then I found out later that you'd really gotten hurt on it. The 500 is a great bike too, there's a guy from my home town that had one(ex-500 I think), & he could ride a wheelie further than any of the 'big boys.' LOL Whatever you get, just be careful, one thing you'll notice is that people DO NOT look out for motorcyclists.... you have got to be on the defensive constantly, just like under canopy after a 100-way or something (

    FEAR? No Fear!

Man I'm tellin' ya Frank... You know what they say, "hindsight..." At the time the only thing that seemed important (on that particular ride) was to avoid those reckless driving & speeding tickets. Man, it's amazing the stupid things you do when you're a "kid." AND, now that I have a family, I tend to think about how somebody else might feel, or how my family would feel if something were to happen to me. However, I guarantee that I would have gotten the short end of that deal if I'd hit anyone. Nonetheless, was still a really really stupid thing to do, and I rarely did do it around other traffic (the roads just aren't really "equipped" for that around here). I mostly kept it on the race track for that kind of riding. Yeah Mark, it was definitely a lot to handle at first, but it really didn't take me anytime at all to pick up a few tricks & to learn the bike inside & out. One thing to consider, and all of my biking friends agree, is that if you get something fairly small (like a 500cc) within a year you'll be wanting to "upgrade" to something bigger... kinda like that "itch" you get to downsize at about 100 jumps or so. Anyway, just something to consider, I mean think about it man.... by the time I wanted to get rid of mine I wanted the Hyabusa w/a top speed over 210 mph... Doh, just bad news http://www.suzukicycles.com/sr_01/sportstreet/fs_haya.htm. "Peace & Blue Skies!"

    FEAR? No Fear!

Guys, guys, come on.... Now I know that 115mph isn't a Sunday stroll in the park, but you could do so much better for just a few $$ more. CAUTION: Pamela, avert your eyes! My first bike was a 93' GSX-R750 (bought in 95')... Now, on the night I like to call, "The Midnight Ride" I was topping speeds in the upper 170mph range (did this several times, not just this one night), while smokin' the local Highway Patrol's ass after he'd clocked me at about 90mph. You want to talk about adrenaline, there's nothing like weaving in & out of a bunch of cars that are going about 65mph on a two lane highway. You say you'd kill yourself if you got anything bigger, you're probably right... I say that I'm lucky to still be alive! I sold that bike & almost got one of the new 1300 Suzuki Hyabusas (sp?), but thought that I WOULD end up really hurting myself. They're a lot of fun, but if you don't know how to handle one, it can definitely maim or kill you. Just be very very careful on anything you get, speed, as we all well know, is probably more addicting than durgs of any kind! btw Wingnut, I am sooo Jealous of you.... I've always wanted to drive the auto bahn! "WoooHoo!" "Peace & Blue Skies!" Edited by Merrick on 3/15/01 11:50 AM.
  21. Hell Yeah!! Cloud-cover's looking good, winds are looking good, rain is looking good.... we're gonna' jump our asses off this weekend baby!
  22. ROFL - Well, it's not actually a refinery... just a bunch of oil tank farms all around. .....and the prison is "supposedly" minimum security, so you should fit right in! "Peace & Blue Skies!"
  23. Man, that's wrong sooooo many different levels! ROFL "Peace & Blue Skies!"
  24. Kick A** Sis!!! I can definitely relate.... I haven't attempted a sit yet, but this weekend I had an AMAZING jump. we got up extremely early to catch a sun-rise load (very very cool).... we were just going to do a simple 3-way star exit then just a few centerpoint turns & re-dock. Well, all that sure went to hell the minute we stepped off the plane! LOL I'm still not quite sure what happened on exit (if it was my fault or the other low-timer), but it funneled a bit... and sure nuf' a second later we found ourselves in a 3-way head-down... we held it for about 7 secs or so then broke away (it's actually probably the first time I ever heard anybody "WOOOHOOO" in freefall). LOL It was awesome, for the rest of the dive we just re-docked our 3-way star then tracked away & deployed... it was really beautiful, there was a bunch of storm cells moving in below us at about 2,000agl just before exit (stormy-industrial haze that is)... FREAKY!!! I love it when things just fall in to place... we couldn't do that again if we tried (well, I couldn't).LOL Only got that one jump, but that made the weekend, plus our coach just told us that Pam & I will get to jump together in about a month, so that just made it even better!
