4 pointsDisaster Response experience mode: That area is called flooding alley. The Guadalupe River flooded in nearly every decade of the 20th century. Ten people – teens attending a summer camp in Comfort – died in 1987 during a flash flood when their school bus drove into water. A flood in 1998 was the deadliest in the area up until that point, killing 12 people. https://www.tpr.org/news/2025-07-06/texas-flash-flood-alley-kerrville Lived in Houston back in the day - take a look at the attachment for their flood history. While stationed at Ft. Hood, we had one river area heavily posted with "Do not cross during Flash floods." Under that sign was a "Number of Deaths This Year: XX" When I left it was 55. 1. If you're going to lay blame, it is at the feet of each Governor 2. People forget until the next one, then there's another round of Thoughts & Prayers. We will bank money to respond to a disaster; but do shit to prevent it. Every. fucking. year. And, children die for that lack of prevention each year. history-timeline2022.pdf

4 pointsGenerally speaking, I don’t favor any US President acting unilaterally, without the consent of congress, to bomb any nation. Without question malign states in pursuit of weapons of mass destruction are a problem. But I see it as a world problem best resolved in conjunction with partners not an American only problem. We can further discuss the efficacy of other Presidents actions and whether or not they were appropriate or necessary or acted on unilaterally. But that was not the issue I stated which was the question of whether or not the bombing set back their program or just made some folks feel better. That and I simply do not trust Trumps motive in the decision.

3 pointsOr why Trump's ex-defence lawyer Todd Blanche, the deputy attorney general, filed an appearance in the case of Ghislaine Maxwell. He is going to make an under the table offer of a pardon in exchange of a couple lies regarding the US president. Eric Adams being the precedent for such corruption. In case nobody noticed we are just six months into the term of the most corrupt leader in the history of the western world.

3 pointsThe real future should be figuring how to use less of it in the first place. Fewer and more efficient lights, appliances, smaller cars and more mass transit. Insulation. And that’s just individuals. There’s a reason the mantra starts with reduce Wendy P.

3 pointsOh hell for his base he'll become another Elvis immortal. Transcending death, becoming a synonym for scams, lying, fraud, rackets, pussy grabbing,Putin apologist, etc.

3 pointsHi folks, A few years ago a neighbor was on his deathbed and motioned for his wife to come closer. He told her, "When I'm gone, I want you to marry Bill." She said, "I thought you hated Bill." He said, "I do." Jerry Baumchen

3 pointsDuring the Ghislaine Maxwell trials it was revealed that several of Maxwell's sex slaves came from Mar-A-Lago. So closing that down would be a huge win in the fight against child traffickers, eh? Oh, and remember Ted Suhl? He ran The Lord's Ranch, a camp in Arkansas. It was a cover for a child sex ring, with “innumerable incidents of fondling of genitals and oral rape. The . . . men and women who owned, operated, and staffed the facility preyed on and abused the children housed on the remote facility in Warm Springs, AR. routinely and systematically.” Then those mean cops arrested him for running that. But don't worry. Trump pardoned ol' Ted. Birds of a feather and all that. Trump made that deal with the Taliban because the Taliban promised Trump they'd use the equipment to fight terrorism. The Art of the Deal! As always, sorry about the facts.

3 pointsNo argument on any of your points. We've had this discussion about the _right_ approach. I just watched the news this morning and saw the silliness in California, beat downs here and there, continuous violations of the constitituion by law enforcement (no surprise) and just got my pissed off for the day and wanted to vent. We see pics of soldiers in foreign countries giving children water, food, etc. while here we see children getting scared by those to serve and protect and it just pisses me off. /rant II

3 pointsTom talked about this at CC23. Here is a video of the presentation in case anyone missed it.

3 pointsI think claiming that "the left" all attack Christians is pretty similar; a painting of an entire group with a characteristic that you then use to denigrate them.
-
2 pointsToo much chemical "joy" last night perhaps? Of course they could be wrong. But so far they have not been. Remember how Trump said tariffs would not increase inflation? Inflation is up. Remember how Trump said he'd drop grocery prices on day one? They are up. Remember how Trump said he'd end the Ukraine war in 24 hours? It's gotten worse. Remember how he said he wouldn't start any wars? He bombed Iraq. Remember how he said he'd release the Epstein list? He's hanging on to it because he's on it. What you are feeling now is cognitive dissonance; that the man you have placed all your sense of being on is being shown to be a liar. That's why you're crying and lashing out.

2 pointsThis is the answer. He was in it for the money and nothing else. Just a different way to rob a bank.

2 pointsIt would be sad to have a trans child and know up front that you are ordered to hate them.
-
2 pointsBullshit, back at you. They weren't opposed to our "system" they were opposed to trans and LGBTQ rights and feared their kids would be subject to the immorality of queer and transgender people being allowed to exist. Now he is leaning on his Christian faith while his wife asks for prayers. They moved there not for politics but for Christian values. https://www.tiktok.com/@darth_elsa66/video/7526750306433125687

2 pointsHi Keith, Not quite. I believe JD never truly became a Trumper. I think that he and others are simply using Trump to further their agenda and personal lust for power. The evangelicals and racist extremes (Mike Johnson, Steven Miller etc) would back whoever furthers their agenda most. Unlike the dems who shielded you all from Biden’s issues, I believe they will stick the knife in as soon as the liabilities grow. Sadly, the dems handling of Biden’s health give more legitimacy to a ‘coup’ due to health and potentially greater support to a JD take over. As to whether Americans like JD or not, that isn’t really an issue. The extremists are emboldened to think they can do what they like.

2 pointsI'm not dead. The last five years almost killed me, but I survived. I don't want to go into it but I became the care taker for my mother for the last few years until she finally decided to stop breathing. But the important thing is I am still alive. Which is more then I can say for dropzone. It seems to not be where I left it. What happened to this place? On a more relevant issue, I don't know how many people will appreciate the joke I don't know how many people here will still remember my post, but I wrote a book. Yes the most illiterate person on the internet is now a published author. Que the laughter from the gallery. I know you wont believe me so check it out for your self. https://www.amazon.com/Trapped-Time-only-hope-future-ebook/dp/B0FHJHG4Q2/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0 And yes the world has finally come to an end. Just look at the flooding here in Texas. Today I saw a dog and a cat walking down the street with each other. I'm expecting fire from the sky at any minute. But all jokes aside, Check out the book you might even consider buying one like relic. Phisical proof of a divine marical. The artist guy did a great job on the cover although it came out a little darker then intended, but he wasn't cheep. And the editor, the poor editor. That man deserves a meddle. He needs to be paid off too. So buy a book because they deserve it even if I don't. In the mean time, what have I missed here? Lee

2 pointsSee, this is exactly how I know you are happy that Chauvin, a convicted violent murderer, was shanked in prison.

2 points"WASHINGTON, July 12 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday said he might revoke talk show host Rosie O'Donnell's U.S. citizenship after she criticized his administration's handling of weather forecasting agencies in the wake of the deadly Texas floods, the latest salvo in a years-long feud the two have waged over social media. "Because of the fact that Rosie O'Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform, invoking a deportation rationale the administration has used in attempts to remove foreign-born protesters from the country." America and its King are swirling in the toilet bowl.

2 pointsIsn't god always kind, loving and filled with forgiveness. Until you're at the pearly gates for judgment. Where some go directly to eternal damnation. I'm sure its also Biden's fault in some form or another..

2 pointsThe Stephen Miller goal is and has always been to reduce the non-white population of the USA as much as possible. It is as clear as day that there is no limit to the methods he will use if allowed.

2 pointsBack to what. Men being able to call spades spades, and babes babes? McCarthyism only lasted a few years they forget. It’s unsustainable. Wendy P

2 pointsDon’t regret your oath. You put your life on the line for the people and country you love and cherish. I’m not going to pretend that I think it will come right, but I hope that you’ll find peace and a way forward in the country you now live in.

2 pointsThanks. I know you are a Wes fan and should be were the coming contest one of choosing a swell human being. I would be a very happy camper if we lived in an enlightened land where a female with a german name could be elected leader by a nation of latino's but we are too backward and our founding documents are plainly insufficient in this more modern world. Look, by now we all should know that America would be a safer and more collaborative place if old white men would recognize that diversity and inclusion aren't just concepts but strengths to act upon. Or, better yet, if they would just take a hike. But that won't miraculously be the landscape in 4 years and definitely not in the 4 years we have to prepare. So we need to quit talking Moore and start talking less of what middle America and the boys and girls proudly waving Confederate flags will never vote for. Instead we need to focus only on what has the best chance to win the Presidency. Then we use the rulings of our current, corrupt Supreme Court to start the process of, 1. Ensuring the Right has no chance in 2028 and, 2. Jamming democracy down the throats of all of the ignorant motherfuckers who made this shitty, zero tomatoes, movie a reality.

2 pointsHi Joe, Well put; I absolutely agree. Thanks for taking the time. And, since we are dreaming: We need to get rid of the Electoral College. That old albatross is holding this country back. Jerry Baumchen

2 pointsAccording to Hesgeth, the Iran airstrikes were " “the most complex and secretive military operation in history.” So much for D-Day, breaking the Enigma codes, and the Manhattan Project.

2 pointsThe important thing to remember is that as long as we don’t make waves all that is lost is our dignity. It is still possible to be successful in an autocracy, just not as successful as the autocrats. Most people pay zero attention to their government and already expect their leaders to be as corrupt as possible so for most folks, as long as you see value in harming select others, it’s a change for the better.
-
2 pointsI agree with the first two words, that is the only certainty when it comes to religion. Either you learn it on your mother’s knee or come to it by way of epiphany. But there is no explanation for it that agrees with rational explanation. What follows is simply not the case. It’s not about “hating “ no matter how many times you conflate race or sexuality with a belief system that is by any definition a matter of choice. And again no one hates the belief system or the believers, we hate having the precepts forced upon us and, to be honest, the free pass believers expect when asked to explain why they should own the allowance.
-
2 pointsThat "we" clearly does not include those who try to impose their religious beliefs on everyone else by enshrining them in the law of the land.
-
2 pointsNice try. Instead let’s use owning one and living next door to one for 30 years as the comparison. The neighbors opinion would have some value, no doubt, and even more if he was paying the rent so the kids could play. Try something easier: tell me why I should accept Jesus Christ as my savior based on currently available, and provable, information.
-
2 pointsIt’s a slippery slope. First you don’t allow nipples on TV, then you’re an authoritarian theocracy
-
2 pointsNot hate. That is your canard. I hate the influence of Christianity on our society including our military, not the adherents to the faith. What you do not want to see is how what you believe is being forced down the throats of your fellow citizens. You know, like teaching it in public schools underneath a plaque of the 10 Commandments. I get it that it is real to you but for others it is without any rational basis, is completely unprovable, and should have no role in our social and political processes.

1 pointAn article says "Italian local media has reported the daredevil crashed into the pool of the Le Mimose campsite (pictured) after feeling unwell before taking off" That might have been an indicator of a Heart Attack, which if he had acted on it immediately, he might have made it to a Hospital, been treated and survived. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14917025/Felix-Baumgartner-dead-paragliding-hotel-pool.html?ito=social-facebook&fbclid=IwY2xjawLswlFleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETBXckFpQWNwakp3Z1VtbE9QAR7S0SW7gLXQJriBX7dd_iO96_ssOpqTgSf78oQiHDniZlZIOnP8PNucGd45Jw_aem_rHCoPkvIysaLC8Goihbd0A

1 pointI've read both posts and think it's a good scope document. At some point, the democrats will have to in short order - put up a name, so people start learning about their platforms. As usual; I don't agree with all of someone's positions, but as long as I can get around most. Wes has the educational background, understands what going to war means, so would have some pause, and somehow his gun legislation has passed muster where other states can't. At some point, names are going to have to be floated. They may fall by the wayside between now and 2028; but the direction would be noted.
