Perhaps in this case Tom Berenger was stressed about the jumping and didn't want to be disturbed. Remember he was a low-timer when this was filmed and probably needed to focus mentally.

Jaime (Jumpergirl) was on quite a few loads with Tom and his wife when filming finished and said they were really nice people.

Dennis Rodmans double was a white guy, so it is pretty hard to tell who is a double and who isn't.

That's probably why Rodman's character was always, and the only one, wearing a fullface helmet.
But there's good number of scenes where it's obviously Baldwin. I'm embarassed to say this, but I actually watched some of it on DVD with the directors commentary. It's actually intersting. He was saying that Baldwin actually kept sneaking off to go jump.

Both Tom Berenger and his wife got their A-license. (he got his shortly after filming finished)

I don't recall if he ever got an A-number, but he certainly qualified for it, and paperwork was submitted to the USPA. Baldwin, too. I don't know whether Berenger's wife finished the program. To the best of my knowledge, neither of them skydives now.

An extra walked up to Tom (who generally sat by himself) and asked him to sign an autograph. Tom said he was too busy. Within 5 minutes, a crew member came over and said that if any extras talked to the cast anymore that all extras would be let go.

I know that they are working. I don't know what that involves mentally. However, he could have just said to see him at end of the day. Instead, he was threatening the job of a guy who makes $70 a day for an 10-hour day. I thought he was a butthead for that. People who know him better may like him. Most of the other actors seemed ok. The crew guys were just doing their job and seemed like a fun crowd.

On a movie set, time=money, and lots of it.

I doubt the dismissal threat was initiated by Berenger. Rather, he likely complained to the crew that he was being bugged for autographs when he was trying to work, and the crew laid down the law.

Berenger is a professional actor and was there being paid to work, not socialize. He takes his job seriously.

It was also bad form for an extra to walk up to him when he's working on a film shoot and ask him for an autograph. This was very unprofessional of the extra (who didn't know better, but show biz has a very strict set of unwritten rules, and doesn't cut any slack for newbies). If they weren't sure, they should have asked a crewmember first. This would have been embarassing, but would have prevented disruption on the set.

Besides, there's usually plenty of time for autographs, pictures, etc. at the wrap party.

However, the handlers were at fault for not making it clear to the extras that it's bad form. They knew they were working with newbies, and they should have briefed them.

Why do I know this? Several reasons. First, I was an extra in "Navy Seals" (Sheen, et al, shot in Va in 1988. The handlers swore all hell and damnation upon any extra who approached the principals for any reason during the filming day), and was asked to leave the set of "Assassins" (1995 Stallone pic shot in Seattle) for committing a similar faux pas (I spoke to the director while he was working).

Finally, I interviewed Berenger for Skydiving Magazine (July 2000 issue).

Rodman's double was Mike Michigan:P

Nope. Jon Sikorski. I had lunch with him a lot. Just after he had put on his makeup. Brown from just over the jaw to the bottom edge of his neck. We were BSing and after he left, the girl sitting with us said "Wow, what a terrrible birth mark". :S Doh!

I saw Jon last weekend. We talk about it from time to time.

I agree with you on both points. The extra didn't know the rules. He was from England and was just on vacation in the US when the opportunity presented itself. He was well liked and ended up working with the crew to help suit up the actors.

I think he caught Berenger during lunch and who knows? Maybe he was going over lines or something.

It just hit me who you have been talking about. Jaime and Scott were married on the set. I have pics of their wedding. My name may not click with her, but she would know me from a pic. Small world.

Um, yea....Mike was also painted black/brown, but I'm not going to argue over it.

I think deciding who is who and what actor did what is kinda silly. I'm not a star-struck kinda girl and definitely don't care for any of the Baldwin's:P

Oops. I really sounded rude there. It was a poor assumption on my part that there was only one DR double. Apologizing. :$

No biggie, silly:P

I do think it's funny the whole idea of asking for autographs. Maybe it's just me but actor or not, star or not, big hot shot name in skydiving or not, I'm not a star-struck kinda girl.

To me, you're cool if you are genuine and honest. That could mean being egotistical and saying, "Hey, I'm full of myself, that's me, take it or leave it" and then we're cool b/c you meet the criteria of being genuine and honest. But, just b/c everyone else might think your cool, doesn't necessarily mean I do. "Coolness" has to be earned. Therefore, autographs mean little to me w/out knowing someone in person. I understand admiring someone's work, etc...but how many people that ask for autographs really admire the person's work rather than just want something to brag about to their friends?:P

That is one thing that I will give credit to Stephen Baldwin on. To get the people for the crowd scenes, they make an announcement over the local radio. "Come out and be in a movie." Girls wanted to get a pic taken with SB all day long. 3 and 4 at a time. Every 20 minutes. He was very gracious.

I didn't get any actors autographs, but I got a few pics. I did get my log book signed by a bunch of the skydivers. Some famous, some not. You'd hear "Extras are released for the day, if you can make a 15 minute call..." Met a lot of neat people.

Damn....someone else that feels the same way I do. I have laughed at myself several times because I didn't know who someone was. I just really don't care.....:D

yeah, that happened to me in Nashville -- day of the CMA's -- I walked out the front of the hotel, and all these Limo's were pulling in and people getting all excited, I was like who's that??? People just kind of stared at me like you're an idiot for not knowing. oh well..... if it was Shania Twain or Faith Hill, that's another story...:)

The skydiving bit in fandango is funny as F$%^ !! It's on Skydivingmovies.com

Every skydiver should know and love that bit in Fandango.....:D:D:D

Someone has a copy of the original short movie that this was based off of. They screened it at the DZ a few weeks ago, pretty cool. Not much changed between the two versions (well, except the actors of course)

And you spent how much time at CK last summer, and the summer before that? You shoud be ashamed of youself! :o

yeah, squirrel hunter was pretty funny too.

That was probably one of the best DZ original movies I've ever seen. The one with the power walker was pretty good too, come to think of it, so was the turrets one.

I'm not sure if they eer made it into a movie, but the Wendy's Kidnapping one was hysterical as well.

I'm surprised noone was arrested during the making of that movie!
