nacmacfeegle 0 #2 December 3, 2003 I use Excel, its on my laptop, synched with my PDA, but not here at work. Its easy just use any logbook to get the headings, then use a simple math to get running totals etc. You can embed hyperlinks to video, stills, dive plans etc.-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. nightjumps 1 #4 December 3, 2003 You can do it with MS Access on your website or a standard html form that converts to .txt which you can then suck the data in to an excel spreadsheet. You can create an excel spreadsheet on your website as an object.... There's really a multitude of ways to do it... If you're looking for someone to do it for you...there's more than one IT guy on here in need of some cash.
jfields 0 #5 December 3, 2003 You said you have server space. Is it strictly space on a rented server, or do you have one where you have database capabilities. My jumplog is online: http://www.jennandjustin.com/skydive-jumplog.asp It uses a SQL database with active server pages. There are open source databases if you don't have a commercial one. KenKnight 0 #6 December 3, 2003 I use qlogger.com. It's free and even has message boards for your friends to comment._______________ D28695 PoPs #9237 "Mix ignorance with arrogance at low altitude and the results are almost guaranteed to be spectacular" — Bruce Landsberg

kallend 2,146 #8 December 3, 2003 I have to wonder why anyone would think that other people want to read their log book. I can't imagine anyone else wanting to look at mine, and I don't want to see anyone else's. Unless I'm missing something, it seems like hubris to me.... sunshine 2 #9 December 3, 2003 Quote I use http://qlogger.com. It's free and even has message boards for your friends to comment. And that site even has a sex logbook too. Chopchop and his plaything should start one of those. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug!
rehmwa 2 #10 December 3, 2003 Oh man, hubris. That stuff is great, especially made with a little extra garlic and oil. I like to dip bread in it, sometimes tortilla shells. You don't see it served at parties much anymore. ... Nightingale 0 #11 December 3, 2003 I just use a wysiwyg web editor, set up a table, and to add a new entry, I just click on "add new row" and type. www.nightingalesnest.net you may want to check out dreambook.com, and set up a guestbook... then you just click on "add new entry" and type whatever. you can adjust the fields to be whatever you want. I could think of a few ppl it would be good for though. (not on here dont know you all well enough I mean my mates so to speak.)

I can't imagine anyone else wanting to look at mine, and I don't want to see anyone else's. Unless I'm missing something, it seems like hubris to me. Kallend, Mine is up, and I hardly think it is hubris. Honestly, it is more for me than anyone else. It keeps my information handy for licenses, and provides me a reminder of things to work on. The entries are honest assessments of my jumps, rather than any brag-fest. The entries with "TDFTM" for distance (too damned far to measure), or the landings where I write that I bounced on my ass are hardly examples of hubris. Some other people look at it. It generates a lot of hits from interested whuffos. I usually send them to uspa.org and dz.com. Friends I'm in sporadic touch with also check it to see where I'm jumping and how I'm doing. My online logbook also includes names of people I jump with, as I can get them. In at least one occasion, it is also a reminder and memory about someone that died skydiving. Nightingale 0 #16 December 5, 2003 I get a lot of whuffos reading my online logbook, and a lot of newbies. My logbook has a pretty detailed chronicle of what I went through during AFF, and for some reason people seem to like reading it. I just started it for myself, as a way for me to remember all the details of my jumps (not just the stuff that fits in the little square in the regular logbook), and people seemed to like reading it. sunshine 2 #17 December 5, 2003 QuoteMine is up, and I hardly think it is hubris. Honestly, it is more for me than anyone else. Same reason i have one. It's for me. I like how it tracks the percentages of aircraft you've jumped and etc. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug!
