freeflir29 0 #1 May 6, 2005 So I need an East Coast DZ home. I'm just starting to shop for a PIMP trailer. My plan is to spend my time in the US until I retire either at my house in Montana or living in my DZ trailer at whatever DZ I feel like that particular weekend. So who has suggestions for what kind of trailer to buy. I'm thinking along the lines of a 30 footer or so. I just hope I can find one with space for a washer/dryer. I think that's a MUST have. I hate Laundromats! So........any particular brands that are better than others. I think I want to go used since I can save A LOT and get A LOT more for my money. Suggestions from the peanut gallery? freeflir29 0 #3 May 6, 2005 QuotePimp out your camel. I don't think they have camels up here. That's only WAY south. Only animals I see up here are birds, dogs, and cats. The dogs are funny........they aren't stupid.........when people start shooting......they run like hell!
Brains 2 #4 May 6, 2005 Trailers that have room for washers/dryers are generally the "park model" size. Sometimes you can find really good deals on them when some snowbird kicks the bucket. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
plowdirt 0 #5 May 6, 2005 this guy has a 30 footer right around the corner he wants 12k for. I been hawkin that thing for weeks. I would love to go from dz to dz all across the U.S. Then sell it or park it in Cal and hop on a plane and hit the big island for a few weeks. From there Japan ,Australia, UK. mnealtx 0 #6 May 6, 2005 You're going to be hard pressed to find a trailer that has W/D connections built into it, bro.... Keystone has a decent rep.... I had () a Hornet 29F and it was fine for long term park camping... something the length you're talking about is going to be very hard to get into/out of camping parks, and you're looking at a full ton truck (or better, in some cases) to tow them safely... Here's a clicky to get ya started Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706

LouDiamond 1 #11 May 6, 2005 That's not a bad looking bus and the price is reasonable. Only thing I see wrong with it is that it is a 40'er and a manual tranny. 40'ers are a pain to drive anywhere except the freeway and a manual tranny can be a work out in traffic. I will be at WFFC in my 35' converted GMC bus kicking it style"It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
freeflir29 0 #12 May 6, 2005 If I could get that bus for 35 G's I'd buy it right now!
RevJim 0 #13 May 6, 2005 Noice ! The 40 foot part really isn't a big deal, though you are right about the manual tranny, it could be a pain. Clay, the only problem you have right now with buying something like this is, well, your location....It's your life, live it! freeflir29 0 #14 May 6, 2005 Quotewell, your location.... Dude...........it's the new millenium. I do all my banking over the internet. Buying stuff on the other side of the world is easy as point and click! No manual trannies on big buses though!
FlyingJ 0 #15 May 6, 2005 Think about where you'll be parking this thing and what kind of hook ups you'll have before you go and spend the money for a rig with a washer and dryer. If you don't have sewer hookups and have to dump into a honey wagon you'll have to dump your grey water so often that you'd probably be happier going to a laundrymat. I live full time in my travel trailer in a state park with a central dump station rather than full hookups. Even though I shower in the campground instead of in my rig I have to dump my grey water tank every week to week and a half. If I had to dump my grey tank every time I did laundry there's not a chance in hell I'd ever actually do laundry in the rig. Just a thought. I've learned a lot of stuff over the last few months since I moved into the trailer.Killing threads since 2004.
freeflir29 0 #16 May 7, 2005 Ahhh.............problem solved. I just found a SWEET 34 Ft that another DZ.commer wants to sell me. Hell of a deal too. My trailer shopping is over! Dammitt.........I better just go get an ENTIRE truck load of rum. It's rediculous how much I owe him now.
