Testicular Cancer Fundraiser

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,
Each year, 25,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer in the UK and 10,000 die of the disease.
Testicular cancer mostly affects men between the ages of 20 and 35.
Brothers, fathers or sons of testicular cancer patients have up to a ten-fold increased risk of developing the disease themselves.
More than 96 per cent of testicular cancer cases can be cured if caught at an early stage.
Research into testicular and prostate cancer is underfunded, despite the alarming number of cases each year.
The charity 'Everyman' are running a Male Cancer Awareness month in June 2005 and to raise money i am organising an event on Saturday 11th June at RAFSPA, Weston-On-The-Green, Oxfordshire, UK.

At Weston we will be doing 'Boxer Short Skydives'
In order to raise money for the charity, we are going to wear only our boxershorts and Skydive all day! (Lets pray for hot weather!)
To round it all off nicely there will be a party in the evening, and i'm sure there will be some interesting video too.

We have a charity page set-up where you can read about it and donate, it is
http://www.justgiving.com/boxershortskydive

Please help us raise money by donating and passing the web address on to everyone you can, Shane Wood's Director has already said they will match the amount that his staff there donate! Thankyou very much.

Gentlemen, If you would like to take part in the 'Boxer Short Skydive' then e-mail me and i will send you a sponsorship form, or see me at Weston.
Also Tandems are available should you know any non-jumpers wanting to get involved.

Everybody's welcome to come along and enjoy the weekend!

Thankyou for your support and i look forward to seeing you there.

Nigel Holland

(Sangiro has authorised this in this section)

lastly a polite request, this event has been organised by me with 'Everyman', please keep the event at Weston and please don't copy it elsewhere at other DZ's, the more people involved and the more money raised the better, also we should be able to get great publicity for the sport and especially for the charity.

If you'll hook up with PayPal and allow contributions in dollars, you might get more responses here in the states.

I'm interested to see how many women (who have been well supported by men in their wonderful JFTC efforts) help you out. It's time to give some back, ladies.

Good Luck!

You should be able to use your cards to pay in pounds,
$10 = £5.33

See if it works, if it doesn't then i'll work something else out

I am a testicular cancer survivor. I had another type of cancer in my hip that I was getting radiation for and I felt something odd in one of my nuts. It was starting to get hard and had a lump on it.

I told my Doctor that I thought something was wrong, He said "No, the cancer would not spread there". I insisted something was amiss. He refused to even check.

My nurses insisted that I knew my body better than anyone and that I should get a second opinion. Sure enough, I had embrianaled testicular cancer. I had it removed and they decided not to take out all my limph nodes along my back because we caught it so early.

That was 12 years ago and I am cancer free.

I wish I could say it was a horrible experience but it wasnt. I have a silicone nut now and it it the ultimate pick up line. First off, if you can work it in to casual conversation, all girls want to feel it. And, once a girls hand is on your nuts, it is game over. Plus it glows whrn you shine a flashlight on it, further sparking curiosity.

For real, my nurses saved my life and you should have ALL odd things about your body checked immediately.

Play with your balls daily,

Cancer is a so common at the moment and its good to see so many people wanting to get involved,
the money we raise will really make a difference to peoples lives, and it could be the life of a friend or family member that we help, or it could be you that the money will help to treat.

Well the funds raised will go to 'Everyman', which is a campaign run by The Institute of Cancer Research, they are International partners with organisations around the world including Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Insitute in NY and M D Anderson Cancer Centre in Houston,
This means that people around the world will benefit from the event.

So come on everyone, put your hand in your pocket and help our cause, every penny (or cent) counts!
