Who was the Best James Bond in the Movies?

Well, becuase I at least knew some of the other names considered (not in the latest article, but in prior months). Craig is a complete unknow to me. With his lighter hair, I guess I'll have to think back to Roger Moore.

Hair color is like paint, the easiest thing to change. I know what you mean about other names considered, I was excited about Clive Owen. That said, when I gave it serious thought, I didn't really think he was right for the role. In some ways he is too serious and too good an actor, if that makes any sense. Sometimes what an actor brings with them, their cache if you will, can be a detraction.

Finally, he may be to you (and me untill recently), but trust me, he is far from an unknown.

It was Connery. Nobody could play a cold-blooded, ruthless bastard like he did as James Bond.

Sir sean of course, but Dalton always starred in my favourite film - licence to kill, definately the best IMHO.

To each his own, but License to Kill was not one of the better Bond films. Living Daylights was WAY better if you want to look at the two Dalton films.

Although Connery cos he was the best actor and did the longest time span.

Ummmm, no - Roger Moore did the longest time span (72-85). Connery stopped at '69 with Diamonds are Forever (Never Say Never Again doesn't count, as it wasn't an official Broccoli production.)

I actually liked Timothy Dalton and Roger Moore. Sean Connery is an obvious classic too...but you know...

Make light!

I saw that. Daniel Craig. What a lame choice. Well I guess we can just say, "At least he's not George Lazenby."

George Lazenby's best line in the whole move though was:

Connery, I guess, and then Brosnan. From what they're saying about how Daniel Craig will play him, it sounds like a return to the Tim Dalton style, which I think is a strange choice considering it's not what makes the Bond franchise so popular. If we want our spy films 'real world' (in the loosest sense), we've got the Bourne films. If they're trying to compete with those I don't think it'll work.

Bond is about fantasy - that's why we're prepared to swallow the whole concept of this guy who's been around since the 60s but never really gets old and has had half a dozen different faces. He's like Dr Who, without the excuse of Time Lord reincarnation... :)
