all tech geeks...find an alternate to your blackberry service

Recommended Posts

Blackberry is on a sub-geek, sub-human level and below my dignity...

Try HP 6315 - Its basically a micro computer with web access anywhere there is cell signal (via GPRS) also Bluetoth for your accessories, 802.11 for your home and Starbuck use.

Window based, full access to both private and corporate email, SMS (duhhhhh) MMS....blablablablabla... .

Blackberries are for geek wannabees:D

push email?

I mean the geeks that support the sub-geeks. I'm gonna have a lot of unhappy people to deal with if their BB service gets cut off. BB is great for what they use it for...email, period. They want it when its sent, not when they check for it. Although I've heard good things about Goodlink.

Keep updated on news at www.BlackBerryForums.com ...

The maker of the BlackBerry actually already set aside the money (half a billion dollars) to settle if they failed.

Newer BlackBerries also now support MMS -- such as the new Sprint/Nextel 7100i (new) and 8700 series (Nov 1 at Cingular, Nov 15 at Rogers). The new models have gorgeous screens and behave more like real pocket computers, unlike older BlackBerries.

With GPRS, once you turn your service on you get emails in real time. You can simultanously talk on phone, browse the web and receive emails...just like your computer would.

That would depend on what you're using on the server. For example, MS claims that Exchange 2003 SP2 with Mobile 5 supports push email. But it really doesn't. The device is polling for email on a regular schedule. With BB, the server pushes the email out to the device as soon as it arrives.
