fireflytx 0 #1 November 1, 2006 Please check out this website I am making http://www.nocturnalcreationsonline.com/mss.html It is for the TV show I am on. The original site is here www.midnightshadowshow.com and it looks like shit, so I got volunteered to fix it. Right now I have the same basic layout without it being so busy. I need input on how to make this better"Well behaved women rarely make history"

blueskyserenity 0 #6 November 1, 2006 I think it looks great Kim, especially compared to the original. Busy was right! I have no idea about building websites so kudos to you!I like coconuts. bigway 4 #7 November 1, 2006 I think you should make it so when you click on the cafe press items that it thens opens up a new tab or new window instead of taking the viewer away from your website. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

ACMESkydiver 0 #9 November 2, 2006 You might want to take a look at this page --> http://members.fortunecity.com/profgriffin/www/monsters.html You have some trouble with overlapping items there that are distracting and shouldn't be showing. But the site looks pretty fun! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
MikeD10834 0 #10 November 2, 2006 Fireflytx, I'm by no means a slinger of html or javascript, but I do have an opinion (for what it's worth). The biggest thingy that jumped out at me is that the site/page is not user friendly, in a 'navigation sort of way'. Using tables is good, and this should allow you to easily incorp a navigation section at the top or side, very much like your now seeing at the top of this page. Secondly, I'd add a bit of javascript such as mouse-overs, event handlers, etc.. A pinch or two of java, without over doing it, will do wonders for your page(s)... especially if your into cool effects. Another thingy you may want to consider is breaking up the page into multiple pages that would be easier/quicker to load and maintain. Just some ideas... take em or leave em. Blue Skies... That would be awesome! The only problem is, I have no idea how to do that. I am pretty limited, I only know front page. Is it easy to do that?"Well behaved women rarely make history"
Douva 0 #13 November 2, 2006 It looks pretty good to me. You might look into a basic Flash program. Some lightning animation and thunder sound effects, combined with Professor Griffin's voice introducing the page, would be a cool effect. So when do I get to be on the Midnight Shadow Show? You know as well as anybody that there is nothing I won't do for attention. I don't have an M.D. or a law degree. I have bachelor's in kicking ass and taking names. QuoteAnother thingy you may want to consider is breaking up the page into multiple pages that would be easier/quicker to load and maintain. Just some ideas... take em or leave em. Both good advice. Also, and I realize this is just my personal preference, but I like my websites to have a structure of their own, besides just the edge of the browser window. One of the easiest and most common ways to achieve that is by having gutters on the left and/or right of the page, and having the content exist in some width of the window that has obvious definition. here's an example of what I mean. There are also other ways to achieve the same effect without so much negative space (such as corralling the main content with menus) but without doing something it just makes your site... I don't know how to describe it exactly, but let's just say I feel like if I tore the edges off my browser window, the content of your site would ooze all over my desktop rather than holding any shape of its own. Also, as far as navigation goes. You don't have to be completely generic, but be sure and be consistant. Have the exact same navigation menu on all your pages. That way when people browse around they'll feel like they're looking around one continuous site, rather than hopping between a bunch of pages that just happen to all link to one another. As for these comments... QuoteSecondly, I'd add a bit of javascript such as mouse-overs, event handlers, etc.. If you're trying to accomplish something with javascript or flash, fine. If you're trying to impress people that you know how to copy and paste code, don't bother. Your site is coming along great and I enjoyed checking it out....imput on how to make it better?? #1.... you are volunteering, charge money to make it better and enjoy!! I played around with logo attached to show you how much fun can be had!
