DexterBase 1 #4 February 11, 2006 Tim, I'll sell you a PerigeePro with an ACE 220. It's um... not at my house right now... I know where you can pick it up though. You pay me and I'll tell the rangers to let you have it. Let's make it an even $500. What do you say?

DaveO 0 #7 February 12, 2006 I don't think you can really go wrong with any of the base specific gear out there. It's a matter of opinion on what each person likes. Tom Manship summed it up best after I was talking to him about the larger canopies. He said,"Try them all out and find the one that suits your jumping style." This is really hard to do unless you live by the potato bridge. So get opinions from the other EXPERIENCED jumpers in your area. Then make your decision. My 2 cents is get a pin rig first. I prefer the Gargoyle myself because of the shape of the container. It most resembles my pack job. Thicker at the bottom and gets narrower toward the top. It's easy to close and I just think it's a damn fine looking rig. As far as a canopy goes thats a hard one. I'm still looking for the perfect canopy. And it's also a matter of opinion of each jumper. I prefer the FOX over the FLIK. I like the TROLL DW MDV slightly more than I do the FOX. I should have my Black Jack in a week or so (HINT ADAM) which I bought because of many recommendations from experienced jumpers who have jumped several different canopies. (You guys had better be right) I have not jumped the Rock Dragon so I don't know anything about it but jumpers that I have talked to who own them seem to like them. All said and done I would still jump the FOX anywhere. So, if you find that perfect canopy please let me know."When it comes to BASE, I'll never give advice, only my opinion"
mfnren 2 #8 February 12, 2006 I say go asylum , the perigee II is the cleanest velcro rig in my opinion. the shrivel flap protection is very well designed. If you can try out canopies, thats best. After talking to people you will find people have very specific opinions. some poeple will say canopy A. is very responsive, while other people will say it's a dog? If you can't ? Buy an ACE.

Yeah, but his post here makes me wonder what exactly he's planning. If he does truly have no skydives and no BASE jumps, why does he need that much info at this time? piisfish 140 #17 February 14, 2006 canopy size.. well I think wingloading has something to do with your shoe size (central european)*1.7/100. Like I have a 42 *1.7/100 =0.71 which is quite correct. scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
