untilThis is the Nationals for beginning skydivers. All rookie skydivers from any dropzone are welcome to participate in this 3-way scrambles style competition. Teams change each round based on a random draw, but will always include one experienced ‘coach’ (members from SDC Rhythm XP, SDC Core, Rook Nelson and more!). Scores will be judged by an officially rated judge and prizes are awarded to the top three individuals. The winner will take home a Rookiefest Trophy that will give the DZ bragging rights that they produce the best students! We invite jumpers from all dropzones to participate. At the end of the first day join us for a brief seminar on topics that cover gear, canopy, exits, safety, competitive skydiving, formation skydiving and more! In the evening come to our famous Tiki bar to enjoy dinner and drinks. To be eligible to participate you must have met the following requirements as of September 2020 (so as long as you would have been eligible to compete last year you can participate this year): Rookie skydivers can participate in up to 2 Rookiefest Competitions, provided they meet either of these criteria: • Less than 200 total jumps OR • Less than 2 years in the sport as a Rookie Registration now open! https://bookings.burblesoft.com/index/27/211 Also fill out the google form HERE so we can ensure appropriate gear and coach match-ups!

Seems to be or not to be, that is not the question anymore. All together so intense, so mindblowing, heartopening, soulfeeding feelings and thoughts, emotions aware, consciousness so full, overwhelmimg impressions had to breakout in expressions to clear, so just had to write it down, so in written form I realised - skydiving has come to stay, skydiver it seems to be, the new part of me. (Damn this swedish autocorret). Hey yo all, Blue skies

Hello everyone! I’m a total newbie here, I’ve been trying to decide if I should start the AFF for the past year. I’ll give y’all a little back story... My husband and I did our first tandem for my 30th bday in the spring. As I landed I literally said to myself, “the ground is stupid”. I fell in L.O.V.E. I could not get skydiving out of my mind, trying to learn everything I can online. We went a 2nd time in the fall. I knew I didn’t want to jump (no pun intended) into anything with haste... I got a new job, spent the next 8 months saving up, and told myself to wait 1 year to weigh the pros and cons but I’m still left with questions and doubt. So! Do you think about it all the time? Was it hard for you to make the decision to start? How do you pay/afford it? How do you juggle your life outside of this community, family, wanting to travel, fixing up the house, hanging with other friends? Lastly, and mostly importantly, if I decide to start I’m left not knowing if I’ll complete or continue on, which I’m ok with but Have y’all ever know someone to stop, and if they’ve regretted their decision or not? Thank you so much! Paula G.
