    Why should someone say it's global warming? Even a child knows the difference between the weather and the climate. Sure, severe and odd weather events can be caused by global warming, per my artic cold air blast example. So...what are YOU saying it proves? Edit: Ahhh, I see you've turned your story from snow in the US NW to an ice breaker that found ice in the Artic Circle. Ok...what are you saying either proves?     Basically how you can surf in the morning and go skiing in the afternoon on the West Coast. I do think he's referring to an earlier snow event that was caused by an artic cyclone release but he doesn't provide specifics lest he not only be proven conceptually wrong but also specifically wrong.

    There's no picture you can paint or tale you can weave that alleviates the inherent racism in any version of the phrase "Go back to were you came from." While I get the context of giving your neighbor shit and the endearing exchanges over the differences in your ethnic backgrounds you're talking about a colloquialism that simply doesn't apply to the contentious interactions between a sitting President and his political rivals.

    You seem to say this every time there's a contentious issue on the table. Yes, their certainly a bit of scrambling and gnashing when issues come up and that's because Democrats squash these issues instead of letting them develop. On the flip side of that the Republican party did nothing about Trump and that's how he became President. A better continuation I've seen of this is that he's making this "squad" the face of the Democratic party. What you're missing is that at a point when racism, sexual predation, and global temperatures are at the forefront of our national psyche he has placed the most outspoken people in the middle of it. He's made them famous at a point when their message resonates the most and addresses the issues most directly.

    You're not, actually, that's just buying a flag from a far right blow-hard. What you ARE doing actually, is giving life to the actual deplorables (the actual racists and bigots) by not acknowledging the difference between them and you and not condoning their actions.

    I agree with all of that but these accusations need to be accurate. Standing in a room and pointing at a group of women who's job it is to look hot in a prepared news fluff piece about Trump partying with girls who's job it is to look hot is absolutely not a condemnation.

    He did that before Karem asked the question and the question was asking in the middle of a pack of reporters yelling questions. Again, coming to Trumps defense. These instances and accusations need to be accurate because if they're not then the entire issue gets thrown out, baby with the bath water.

    That he knew Epstein? I don't know, super rich people run in the same circles. I see it no differently than when everyone freaks out about a picture of the Clintons with Putin or Farrakhan. They simply will be in the same places and they accept each other's hospitality. At this point it's a developing story as to what people knew about Epstein at the time even with Trump saying that it was rumored Epstein liked girls on the younger side.

Curious about the discrepancy with the NOAA data but assume it's because they include sea temps too which don't have as much variation as the surface air temps cited in these sources. I believe this is what we refer to as a trend, as it in getting warmer, as in the data Hutch was looking for in his "eating crow" rant:

I only see May data on NOAA and that would be quite a jump in averages. https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/global/201905/supplemental/page-1 Edit for the readers: Of note, NOAA takes sea temperatures into account (which lag behind air temperatures). Since it's the air and sun that warms the sea it won't be far behind although that's typically metered by the hot air also melting the ice sheets which in turn cool the ocean in some areas.

    His words in text and voice are policy. By alienating people simply because of their country of ancestry as he has done on many occasions he sets a policy for Americans to also alienate them in their personal and professional lives. What he has said is the kind of bullshit you hear from a shitty truck in a gas station before it peels out and clunks down a back road. If that's the country you want you're welcome to leave, to paraphrase Trump. You're missing the point that these messages of his DO FEED INTO HIS POLICES as a method of gaining support for things like the Muslim Ban and his BS self-created emergency at the border.
