How far will DZO go in insulting you?
matereti replied to matereti's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
not really, I am just another fish in the pond. My business was already elsewhere, I was thinking of coming back. But his answer assured me not come back. I don't think there was anything personal in his answer. But the tone of the answer was totally insulting. That is what shocked me & I was wondering are there any other people around that had same experience as me. Let's face it DZO's in most of the places have priority for students & tandems. As I've said If somebody in that range e-mailed him with same question bet you the answer will be the same but in the normal polite way. -

Yeap it is his freedom to insult me as it is for me to whine about it at DZ.com. That is what I really like about this country. But my question is how much good can things like this do for sport? Also were is this sport going in the end.... seriously I was expecting simple NO. -

Thank you that is exactly what bothered me. There is plenty of places to jump around. Also I've spend quite a few bucks at his place over the previous years. As I said it is his place, obviously I will go somewhere else after respond like that -

I know that each drop zone is a separately owned and operated business. And being such it has it own set of rules. But lately I started to wonder do they want the business from sport jumpers, the way some of them treat us. Or they just look into doing tandems & students. The following e-mail is something that I wrote to Joe Richards from Ranch. I've edited it by taking some names out, there is no need to take other people involved into this. Here is my e-mail: Hi Joe, My name is Goran I don't know if you remember me I use to jump at Ranch up to the last season. Last season I've spend at other DZ jumping with 4-way team . One of the main reasons I left was clubs policy of no dogs. Well now when is no longer a club I have I question for you as a DZO. I am joining a newly formed 4-way team . The team has a plan to do some NSL meets and some or even most of the training at Ranch if possible and go to Nationals. But my dogs are issue. I use to hide my dogs in the woods when ranch was a club and I was sick of the stress, will somebody see me or not. I was always picking after them and I was never allowing them to go near skydivers area (packing, landing etc.). My question is will you allow me to keep my dogs when we train (if we decide to do it at Ranch) at the and of the runway after the pond with me promising you that they will never interfere with any skydiving activity and I will remove all of their "doodoo". Thank you for your time & blue ones Goran As I previously said I am aware that each DZ is private business, but in my mind simple NO will answer all of my questions. Obviously that wasn't enough for Joe Richards. Here is his answer. I've made bold the part that I can believe he actually wrote. Hi Goran, I have a dog, I do not bring her to the dropzone. Dogs historically been an issue at the Ranch. Besides stepping in doggie doo, I've seen them piss on peoples jumpsuites and rigs. I've also had to break up fights. I think you should do what you really love. Give up skydiving and open up a pet shop or perhaps a Doggie Daycare. Blue Skies, Joe Richards Well as I said it is his business how will he treat his customers, obviously I will go and jump somewhere else. But I do really wonder will he reply in the same manner to prospect tandem passengers or students who will leave couple of thousand bucks in short period of time? Just wonder has anybody else had similar experience? Thanks Goran -
How many riggers pencil pack themselves? Don't tell me that none of you guys never didn't just change a seal on closed reserve. Just a thought .....

Hi I am hard core belly flyer (mostly 4-way) but I've recently started to experiment with FF in the tunnel. Well have to say I really liked it. So, I am planing to do at least 20-30 jumps a year of FF whenever I have chance.

Hi everybody, does anybody know were can i get info on new Russian rig QUEST thanks -
Great, We are coming to Orlando November 5-6. Who should I ask about harness ? Thanks
-
Thanks for your impute guys. Here is some more info: Suit is made for me and it fits me really good except that torso part. In the air I don't have any complains about it. I've made some 140 training jumps in it with my team. But I've noticed that slack on the material which I didn't have on my previous suit. This tunnel trip will be the first time I will use a new suit in the tunnel. I have some 12 hours of tunnel time so far and my only concern is will I feal the difference or not. And if I will should I get that harness or not?

During our spring visit to tunnel I've noticed that Italian team KIAI had small harness over their suits (type you have when you go rock climbing). Was wondering why? Now when I look at my new suit I've noticed that my torso part on the suit is longer than my torso. So technically when I don't have my rig on I have a lot of loose material in crouch area & my booties are little bit to loose. Should I get one of those harnesses? Or even maybe the whole body harness like in construction?

What is the best way to wash the rig (container)!
matereti replied to matereti's topic in Gear and Rigging
Hi everyone, Have a Javelin J1 and I want to wash it! What is the best way to do it? Thanks & Blue ones G> -
Had a ride with my PDR 126 couple of weeks ago. Opened smooth & fast. Man, I am loading that canopy 1.9 was little bit concerned about landing it. NO problem at all, stall was low were it supposed to be. Tip toe landing without any problem. In my mind there is no other reserve than PDR. Especially if you are planing to have a bigger wind load on your reserve like I do.

First of all Yonatan I don't have any words that will mach your loss, I will miss Sara but I don't think anybody will know how much you will miss her and how deep is your pain. It is well known that at CK some staff members like to swoop over the team trailer & monkey claw trailer no meter of the wind direction. As meter of fact I saw I close call on the Sunday. When one of the videographers did it. I know that Sara & Ron were not doing such a thing. But I hope management of the CK will start considering to enforce some polices against such a thing after their accident. CK is small landing area and lately very busy. As meter a fact we had a lot parallel runs on the weekend with some 30 something people in the air. I personally don't mind swooping but lately I've seen so many close calls. I personally don't know how to regulate such thing but I know there must some kind of compromise that will make everybody happy. Goran
