  1. Agreed. For whatever reason, looking down and seeing the structure supporting me, sends chills up my spine. But looking down from an aircraft doesn't bother me. Exactly! I wonder how many skydivers have a visceral fear of heights that isn't triggered when we aren't attached to the ground? lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9

  6. Anything is possible. Key takeaway: don't attach your child to anything using 200# line. I suppose tying the child to the mast of a ship in a storm might be the exception. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9

  11. At least he honked. I've had some who sped up to keep me from passing them. All that did was just make me stomp the gas and blow by them. And I was in a passing zone too. Fuck em, donkeys... Oh, I hate those types! They go ten under whole twisty way, and then they all of a sudden go ten over on the straight-away with the passing zone. I don't usually give a second chance to go slow in front of me during the next set of twisties. They usually become really small really quick in the RV mirror. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  12. I'll admit I was a "jerk" today. I followed a doofus who, for over 5 miles (a ten mile long road on a peninsula) , never even approached the speed limit (45 mpg --silly in itself ). There is a spot, where I'm not sure why it's not a passing lane (visibility is a quarter mile), and the doofus is doing 38, so I put it into second and blow by him and he honks. WTF? Sure, it may be illegal, but it was not unsafe. He was driving just about the same speed as the farm equipment, but usually the farmers have the courtesy of pulling over to the shoulder. sheesh! lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9

  17. My closest encounter with a hawk was with an Osprey. I was driving with the top down alongside an Osprey which had a fish. He kept weaving back and forth in front, to the side, and over me. While he's in front of me, I'm thinking to myself "This is pretty cool, we're kind of pacing each other". Next thing I see is a Bald Eagle swoop down and hit the Osprey! The fish goes flying in my direction and barely misses me! Fortunately, the birds fell the other way. I was too busy dodging the fish to see what happened to the birds who both came up empty. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9

  21. Yeah about halfway from dead center to the edge. Any closer and he might have rolled off the edge of the net, maybe? Still, it was a bad ass stunt and I'm glad I didn't miss it live last night. There looked to be a second, net below the impact net too. Yes, a larger net below the first one, which he fortunately used. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
