  1. Mine was a pink trim line phone. I was lucky that the bedroom I had as a teenager had it's own jack. A few years before that house, the family was still on a party line. IIRC, ours was one long ring and a short ring. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  2. Yes, I chickened out as a student (static line) 3 times. But I bulled through the fear, and made 800 jumps (way back when this was a big number) lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  3. Sometimes who a person is in person can be totally different than who they are online. Most Texas jumpers I've met have been pretty cool. I only "met" him online, but he always was polite to me. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  4. A certain Texan? lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  5. TPTB took away what little fun we were having and it just hasn't been the same since. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  6. I twist them apart, lick the icing off, and toss the cookie part away. In ice cream is the only way I'll eat the whole cookies, although "whole" is a stretch. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  7. Short version: This latest fool spammed every forum with his rants in new threads. Then he started going through the forums resurrecting ancient threads with his rants. So, no fun, after all? lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  8. Kinda like Funks? Hey, nobody does sock puppets like Funks! I don't mind them if they are done cleverly. I don't check in for a couple of days and miss all the fun! lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  9. A woman found out that her dog could hardly hear, so she called her veterinarian. The vet found out that the problem was hair in the ear. The vet cleaned both of its ears and miraculously the dog could hear just fine. The vet told the lady if she wanted to keep this from reoccurring, she could go to the store and get some NAIR hair remover and put it in its ears once a month. The lady goes to the drug store and gets some NAIR hair remover and at the register the druggist tells her, "If you're going to use this under your arms, don't use deodorant for a few days." The lady says, " I'm not using it under my arms." The druggist says, "Oh. Well, if you're using it on your legs, don't shave for a couple of days." The lady says, "I'm not using it on my legs either. If you must know, I'm using it on my schnauzer." The druggist says, "Stay off your bicycle for a week." lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9

  14. Can you give us the crib notes? A minute and a half was about as far as I could bother. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  15. Another prime example of WTF is wrong some people! lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  16. What's up with the constant blimp/drone/aircraft noise on the sound feed of the US Open? It's so loud that it drowns out the (considerable) wind, and announcers. Hell, I can't even hear the crowd cheering (which I complained about in an earlier thread). No one can hear a clap, anymore. You'd think that they'd be able to filter it out better. Don't get rid of it, just throw in a little aircraft noise here and there and all's good! p.s. Get well to the poor pilot who crashed earlier this weekend. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  17. Not in time to duck, anyway! lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  18. That's pretty cool. I was in Hawaii for the '91 eclipse, which was freaking awesome, but I don't think I'll be able to make it to the path this time around. Take pics if you can for us, and enjoy it, regardless! lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  19. Spot on! Is that your own verse? lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  20. Posts like this are why we need both a Thumbs up icon and a like button! lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  21. Most skydivers can't spot, what makes Amazon think they will do better? Will they do a WDI pass? lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  22. Cheaper than mine. Love me a revolver kind of spinner! lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  23. Awesome, let us know in the morning how it goes. Unless you are a gentleman, or you aren't successful. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  24. Linky, no worky. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
  25. Nope, google the history. Not saying those won't make really good additions (I love chickpeas, btw), but not traditionally part of that particular salad. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
