  3. hi fellow skydivers, wuzz up, im new in here i went to sky dive last saturday but this happened.... it has been almost 5 months cince i took my A license in south africa and haven't jumped yet , they told me i had to jump with the milatary cause here in Angola this sport its kind of new the only ones who do it are the military, my uncle is a general so he pulls some strings and all of sudden i receive a call on friday from this special forces captain who invites me to go and jump with them on their trainning facility miles away from the city, so on saturday monday i get all my gear and go to the military base to meet with this captain and a student of his that is doing static line he had like 50 plus or so static line jumps he didn't do free fall so we was going to jump out at 3000 ft and me and the captain were going up tp 9000ft and we where jumping ou of a military helicopter, my first time out of a helicopter MI 17 bad ass, i was al excited and so we departe on the heli to the training facility tooks us 20 min to get there , once there we prepared put up our gear some last minute briefing, a light review on the emergency procedures and we were off ,first stop 3000ft the captain does hes last check to the commando also checks the steel cable and so does the commando , the captain hooks him up and out he goes he does a bad ass commando exit out of the heli , but then disaster strikes when the statick line snapped in order to pull the chute, the steel cable broked(don't ask me how) so he goes th ecaptain lokks at me(almost in panic) and shouts "he's got the reserve, he's got a reserve chute" so we both looked outside to see if he had opened the chute , heli circled and circled we looked and lokked ther was no reserve chute opened man it was hard on the captain we landed and the other commandos told us that he came screaming and trying to hold himself into something in mid air....... that sucked he had the reserve chute he had only to reach for it , so i guess what happend was that after 5 seconds the commando didn't feel the chute open , he waited 5 more seconds and still nothing looked to the ground and start to panic( probably brushimg 1300ft at this time) lokked to see if maybe was a slow opening and nothing so he panicked even more looked to the ground and panicked even more so his mind blocked dont nedd to tell more........ i don't understand how could he panic he had the reserve chute wich after closer look to his rig he had not pulled so i guess he panic and frozed, ............... anyway there's gonna be another jump section this next sunday but i'm a little bit scared cause it has been 5 months since my last jump and i'm a litle bit concerned i migth freeze as well , what must i do before the jump in order for this not to happen to me?
