Hey! No, don't bake the whole helmet. Here are the instructions: 1) Preheat oven to 200 Fahrenheit or 80 centigrade. Note how the liner is installed in the helmet. 2) Remove the liner from the helmet and place THE LINER ONLY in the center of the oven on a piece of cardboard. DO NOT HEAT TOP PAD, just ear and chin pieces 3) Turn Off the oven. 4) Leave the liner in the oven for 10-15 minutes until the heat permeates the liner. 5) Take the liner and THE CARDBOARD out of the oven. 6) Return the liner to the helmet. 7) Place the helmet on your head and position it comfortably. 8) Leave the helmet on your head until the helmet cools. Approximately 10 minutes. **This above procedure can be repeated for a custom fit. Practice putting the helmet on and taking it off before jumping it. Always make sure your helmet is on straight during the cooling process. It forms the way you tell it to. When you remove the ear pads from the oven, before you place them in the helmet pinch down the edges as follows: When you place the helmet on your head and have it locked, tuck in the liner in any places it may be sticking out. Remember that any areas you pinch or compress will remain that way permanently. Do this procedure only in places where it is absolutely necessary. The helmet may be uncomfortable in the beginning. This is caused by the expansion of air bubbles in the liner at altitude. Be patient, the liner WILL break in and become more comfortable. Hope you enjoy your helmet! Worried about Bonehead's CX150 Top Mount Box
BH_Composites replied to AdamSonOfJohn's topic in Photography and Video
Hi Adam! To tell you the truth lenses are kind of a crap shoot. I would personally recommend a Royal lens, but it looks like the Opteka HD Fisheye lens will work, though you may need to cut down the lens support a bit. If you order direct from us you can always return it before you cut it. Let us know if we can be of any further assistance! Thanks Meso! The gear section looks so awesome and fresh now! It took a few weeks of emailing several people before I found the right person to contact for changes. As soon as I got ahold of Bryn, things got done QUICK! :) We have a Dbox for the CX-500 that we just released today. http://www.boneheadcomposites.com/m8_view_item.html?m8%3Aitem=601. We'll also have a new camera helmet and new full face helmet coming out in the next week or so. Should I contact you at your dropzone.com email for these updates or should I continue to email Bryn? I can hold off on sending the new products until I have a few updates, so that you're not having to update them one at a time if you'd prefer. Thanks again!!! BoneHead Composites has a new website!
BH_Composites replied to BH_Composites's topic in Gear and Rigging
Hey Frostie! We've added the dimensions of the mounting surfaces to our pages for you! Let us know if there's anything else that you'd like to see or suggestions that you have. We have been using a CAD program to design new helmets, boxes, etc. AND we have a rapid prototyping machine (FDM). What this means is that we can design stuff on the computer and print out a 3 dimensional prototype almost instantly! This makes it a whole lot faster to bring new ideas into fruition!! We love hearing your thoughts and we're always here to help! Bonehead Composites (951) 943-1166 www.boneheadcomposites.com www.facebook.com/boneheadcomposites -
Freefly helmet with good forehead protection
BH_Composites replied to likearock's topic in Gear and Rigging
Hey! The Guner and Mindwarp have a hard forehead. The Echo from Paragear is another economical option http://www.boneheadcomposites.com/8.html Is there any functional difference between Guner and Mindwarp or is it just styling? Mainly styling. The only functional difference is that you can mount a camera in an L-bracket on the mindwarp because it has flatter sides. The Guner has rounder sides (that might be why it fits better on airtwardo's funky head ). Bonehead Composites (951) 943-1166 www.boneheadcomposites.com www.facebook.com/boneheadcomposites -
