  1. The plane lands back at the airport with one of my trusty pilot friends at the yoke... then if I survive I buy him a beer later that evening ;-) Thanks for the info! Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  2. Anyone know the rules as far as jumping out of ur own aircraft? Like say I want to jump out of my own plane and land on a public beach or in an empty soccer field... what are the laws/restrictions involved? Cheers Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  3. Thanks! Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  4. Does anyone know if any of the AAD manufacturers/dealers offer a military discount? Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  5. Yea I freefly a Dolphin with tucktabs... I've done a bunch of headdown exits/sit flying with no problems. I've had a few people make a few comments... but nobody has strictly said "DON'T FF THAT THING!" I just check it over really well right before I jump. Don't worry... 6. Right on, how about with putting patches on your rig? I can see how it might be dangerous to put them in certain areas... has anyone ever done that? Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  7. Yea I think I'll go for the by hand ideal on the first go around... if it's a disaster then I'll try and get some more help. I'm sort a lil hesitant about letting whuffos touch my suit haha Especially after Julio was all like, "don't ever wash it man!" This thing is sacred... Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  8. I want to put them on the upper part of the arm, near the shoulder. My mom lives on the other side of the country, she told me I may need to use a special kind of thread... I'm hesitant to use the glue cause I don't want to make the patches permanent, incase I want to sell the suit later Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  9. I wanna throw a couple patches on my new LiquidSky suit... anyone know the best way to do that? They're iron on patches, but I think It'd probably be better to sew them on somehow Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  10. Yea man thats my problem. I know at least 6 divers here and yet I can't get them to get off their butts and go diving... cause what cool man johnson (theonlyski ) up top here doesn't realize is that yea everyone and their mom in Florida is a "diver" and yet barely anyone actually dives consistently... usually cause they don't own gear. At least thats my experience in Central Florida... I'm sure its a bit diff down South. Let me know if you want to go sometime Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  11. Anyone in Florida a diver? I'm always lookin for new dive buddies... I like to spearfish and hunt lobster. If that's what ur into hit me up Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  12. Ok awesome, thanks! I hope to see you out there sometime Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  13. Hello fellow Floridians, I moved away from Central Florida for a couple years and just came back a skydiver. Going to UCF in the fall, Haven't been out to either DZ but a couple times. Anyways I'm looking to meet some freeflyers to jump with... if any newer jumpers are looking for someone to jump with or more experienced jumpers are willing to show a new guy some skills please let me know
  14. Better to have one and not need it, then to need one and not have it. Are you thinking that there is no need to carry one? It's a couple of ounces of very good insurance. I just wanted to get an ideal of how necessary they are... I had one, but somehow lost it. Probably going to get another Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  15. Could have been fixed with a hook knife? Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  16. I guess the members of this church just breezed right through all the passages of the bible talking about loving others despite their sins, and just skipped right to the good parts about hail fire and brimstone... this is absurd. Faith, hope, and love... but the greatest of these is love. "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone." - Jesus Christ These people misrep Christ to such an extreme degree... I can't even imagine how many people they have turned off to knowing Christ. It's like some dude who really sucks at skateboarding and is super anal to everyone all the time telling you he's sponsored by Red Bull, I'm gonna assume Red Bull is a pretty lame company if that's all I see of it. But Red Bull is a super sik company, and Jesus is a super sik God... this is an absolute nightmare. Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  17. The shuttle pilot's name was Felix Baumgartner, he then put on a space suit and a rig and stepped outside of the shuttle. With no further thought he jumped into the atmosphere, exceeding mach one he blazed down from over 120K ft. 6 minutes later the 150 pilot spotted him under canopy making his approach at the airport, and the 150 pilot thought woah woah woah... NOW that's flying Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  18. Mad Skilz, right ? lol! well actually I just meant like I wouldn't try it till I had more jumps... haha I think that's gonna be my new signature Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  19. Haha yea 60's prob too shy to pull any James Bond stunts just yet, huh? Thanks for the info... Don't worry, I'll stay out of the incident reports Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  20. That's rad! Assuming the door is still intact... how exactly are you exiting to avoid snags? butt out the door first? head first? feet first? rig against the door? Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  21. A C-182 or 172 or anything really that has the stock door (opens like a car door), not the door that swings up? Is it possible to squeeze out? Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  22. Not sure why my the order of my list is so jacked up I could have sworn it was in order when I did it lol... anyway! these responses are all very helpful and somewhat contradicting, but I think I'm getting the ideal... Forward = Rigid body, slight D arch, full extension of legs, cupping of hands, shoulders up Backward(ish) = Legs up Up = Widen legs, D arch, widen arms Down = Arch, arms behind back?, legs up Down(slower) & forward = arch, arms behind back?, legs still out On the track dives I've done, I've usually found myself above and behind the lead. On one of my track dives I noticed that another jumper was also in this position and he crossed his arms across his chest like a mummy, kept his legs extended, and arched to get back... I did the same and it worked pretty good, but I thought, wouldn't it be better to put your arms behind your back, rather than across your chest like a mummy? Also, nobody has talked about head position... in swimming my coach always used to tell us where the head goes the body follows... since we're still dealing with moving through a fluid in skydiving I would assume the same would be true... So perhaps forward/up = face to earth? back/down = face to horizon? Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  23. No that's totally cool, everyone's entitled to their own opinion, however I would disagree in the case of skydiving. In a sport where I only do 5 jumps on a good weekend and those jumps cost over $100... I'd like to have my mind prepared before those jumps so I can get the most out of em. All jumps are fun, but successful jumps are more fun. Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  24. Poor choice of options; there are different answers for "above and behind", "above and in front", below and behind", "below and in front", behind and level", etc. Ok then I'll redo the list... Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
  25. While on a tracking dive, what sort of alterations do you make to your body position in order to catch a person who is: 1. Ahead & Level 2. Behind & Level 3. Ahead & Below 6. Behind & Below 4. Ahead & Above 5. Behind & Above Thx! Don't worry... I'll stay out of the incident reports
