I saved those two little ones from a shelter....and now I should send them back....so that some "girl" will think I'm relationship worthy? FUCK HER! I may be in a bad spot due to geography and finances but pussy grows on trees. Once you get past that life it's that much easier. And every hour of every day another cute girl shows up. And these two little ones...hell no! They stay. They did nothing wrong and should not be expelled just because some girl is not "into" a guy who has two cats. No problem you can always switch sides and keep the cats Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

meh...I hated cats but met a cat woman once... ended up loving her and her cats. I could do without, but loving catwomen only opens your options to meeting some freaky lovable women...trust me. Lets see Shah, Arvoitus, Coreece are cat lovers. I don't see that my original premise was flawed at this point Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

There is already - it is called women only. For men it would need to be called the sex forum and I am sure there are plenty of those already Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

I have just figured you out Shah. I have never met a normal man who likes cats Lose the cats and you'll get more pussy. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

Some people clearly have problems comprehending english and have assumed that American means the bastardized version of english you speak over there. Anyway I can't answer your poll because I don't speak any language well Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

Why Separate HP & Standard Landing Areas Aren't Enough
nigel99 replied to jacketsdb23's topic in Safety and Training
This is a question rather than a suggestion and please take it as such. With the very high speed obtained on modern swooping canopies would they not benefit from some sort of traffic control? Clearly DZ's don't want to put 1 swooper out per pass and I understand that completely. One concept would be radio - clearing a person for a swoop, another would be a semaphore go/no go. Other than the fact that any system is a nuisance to someone why would such a system not work and make things safer? Setting landing direction #2 (was: Perris double fatality)
nigel99 replied to Airman1270's topic in Safety and Training
Swooping a 260 In my case it was the first time I had ever been in a situation where more than 1 plane was flying. I was still getting comfortable with my skill set and the lesson learned was that a senior jumper told me before hand that I should be opening as close to 3.5k as I could for precisely this reason. Should there be a new "incidents" forum?
nigel99 replied to cocheese's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Aren't there already proper outlets for that kind of report? Actually the fatalities database here on dz.com does pretty much that exact function come to think of it. This website is largely a discussion forum and while it appears that the same argument is had many times over that is only partially true. Each time the same "stupid" question is raised it is normally by a new person so someone else has the opportunity to learn. Often it is possible to learn from the so called speculation. Old salts pass on reasons why such and such was a good/bad idea etc. I wouldn't mind if the posting rules were tightened up and it was possible to be banned or censored from posting for people who habitually post stupid comments. What is newsworthy? Giving a bunch of women lethal weapons when they are that time of the month is a VERY bad idea Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

Setting landing direction #2 (was: Perris double fatality)
nigel99 replied to Airman1270's topic in Safety and Training
I just want to point something out about last down. At the Fitz boogie I opened relatively high and was busy setting up for the landing area near the tent/boarding. I was comfortable that there were only 1 or 2 other canopies in the sky. Next thing all hell broke loose around me as a second load opened - in my case the number of canopies exceeded my skill level and I aborted my original plan and landed further out. This has nothing to do with FMD as on all my jumps I had discussed landing direction with a senior jumper in advance. Yes, they seem more durable than the old Comet, but I can't help but wonder if this isn't a rehearsal to implement a surcharge for extras such as "pressurization", or "O2 masks". I'm glad no one was sucked out. That's a pretty violent decompression. The one in Hawaii years ago was only at 25K and one flight attendant lost her life when she was sucked out of the plane. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1372605/Aircraft-emergency-landing-hole-passengers-heads-forces-rapid-descent.html Two people fainted/passed out including an air hostess. I remember the Hawaii one. What really gets me is what kind of person videos/takes pictures of a crisis like this? There is a photo by a passenger taken before the oxygen masks deploy. It was the same with the Japan earthquake people posting on youtube etc of other people who are falling down and getting hurt. What ever happened to helping those people? I think it said 36k in one of the articles. Depending how slow they got the plane it would be fun to put a rig on and stick your head out to see the damage. You could even volunteer to duck tape the hole closed for fun. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

I think some people like to goad and taunt others into doing something stupid. I think that he WANTED violent reaction and would probably go so far as to say that he would have liked to see that reaction as a terrorist attack on US soil. Some people are twisted and need to justify their beliefs by any means possible. Me I'd be tempted to burn a few bibles or crosses on Terrys doorstep. I have a sneaky feeling that his reaction would not be to far different to the same extremists he tries to wind up. I have found you the perfect woman. I guarantee you will get laid on the first date, and she won't have kids. http://www.realdoll.com/ Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

I disagree. For many people the over riding emotion or reaction would be fear not anger. BTW - I do see a positive side for anger (not rage). To use the example in a slightly different way, if Quade walked up and slapped a kid in the street and the Dr was watching I think then anger might be the dominant response and his anger may cause him to defend the kid. P.S Not picking on Quade but he chose to start randomly hitting people Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

For a harness one of the riggers who posts here regularly suggested that you could get a used harness modified to fit and still save money over new. I don't remember when the post was made so sorry I can't provide a link. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

PD Optimum Reserve - Opens softer. Is it slower?
nigel99 replied to pnuwin's topic in Gear and Rigging
Sparky, I am interested in the 3 seconds regardless of reserve type. At stable freefall speeds it is approximately 200 feet per second so 3 seconds = 600 feet. I would expect an exponential deceleration as the drag of the inflating reserve increases so achieving anything like 300feet in 3 seconds would seem to be a very tall order. As a result I guess that if a reserve is tested using the 3 second test method it is not likely to be opening in 300feet. Does all that make sense? Nigel This test is done static line from an aircraft in level (horizontal) flight, at three different airspeeds, or from a cutaway main. So there is very little VERTICAL velocity at pack opening. That is how the 300 feet test can be passed. When a reserve is opened at terminal velocity, 600 feet is a more realistic number. Add 200 feet for a one second pilot chute hesitation, a common occurrence, and you have 800 feet. Not a good situation is your AAD fired at 750 feet is it? This is why I would like to see AAD's set a little higher. Thanks that is very interesting.I wondered how they measured the 300 feet when it is used. It is not designed to be used in that manner. Unless you discussed doing something like this with the manufacturers you would not know how the unit would react. Many systems of this type perform self tests on shut-down, you have no idea what could happen. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

http://www.barleystaproom.com/greenville/ After quite a few trips to the US a couple of us have agreed that the US has probably overtaken the UK for "fine beer". There is a huge selection of quality beer here. Divot I am sure you are aware of Barleys good beer and pizza. So far our favourite places are Barleys North Ridge Brewery South Carolina Ale house (new). My favourite from tonight was Bells Amber Ale and I tried the Rogue Dead Guy Ale (because of the name). Magic Hat 9 is ok and we always finish the evening with a yuengling as the benchmark to compare against. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

Do a search, instead of starting yet another Skyride thread... I searched for Skyride and this is the top thread that popped up Out of interest I was searching on Google for dz's in South Carolina and one of the top hits is for a Skyride website. Honestly for a business website it is really poor with abstract contact details, no location entered, no details for fun jumpers. My point? The website does a very poor job of selling and I was quickly off to a "real" dz's website. I can see a tandem being suckered but that is about it.
