  1. There has already been a lot of good advice given here. I would add, that Brian Germain has a book, "Transcending Fear" that may help you learn to get your head in the right place and overcome this. There are a lot of skydivers out there, who have gone on to be great in this sport who have conquered fear. You can, too! Deep breaths really do work!
  2. Skydiving is the best! Congrats on your decision to have the time of your life! I also was immediately addicted by my first tandem jump. I agree with bluetwo, I have seen some students who try to rush things instead of taking in all that they can through the process. Taking time to really learn all that you can seems to be more respected by instructors and experienced jumpers. I have no regrets of being conservative in my training for the A and I plan to continue in that same manner. Don't get me wrong...I wanted that license in a bad way, but also want to be smart about it. HAVE FUN!
  3. You will get there! I had to deal with a winter lay off in the middle of my training, but SO worth the wait!
  4. Thanks! Everyone was really cool at the DZ. Several experienced jumpers were super about getting me into some RW jumps immediately--so you are absolutely right...it is only getting better! Having the time of my life! After reading some of the posts here, I have a great appreciaton for the experiences that I am getting.
  5. I haven't posted here since I first started AFF, but am happy to have earned my A license this Saturday! Can't thank the folks at AerOhio enough! It has been an awesome experience. Skydiving is the best thing I have ever done for myself. Can't wait to get back to the DZ! (will add License # when it arrives/ 9 months in sport)
  6. I had my first jump (tandem) on Sept. 5th! I was addicted the second my feet left the plane. Started AFF and now have 10 jumps--if the wind/rain/clouds weren't an issue I could possibly have my license. I am usually the first one at the DZ and have spent countless hours watching the sky and hoping to jump! Long story short....I feel your pain! everyday could be the last day my DZ is open.
