thanks!!! thats good advice to follow. I get sick and tired of asking a group of old tooters if i can join them on their jump and get shot down with answers like "no way noob, or expert flyers only" then i laugh when i see them crash their landings in because they don't know how to land their parachuters or their canopys are so old that they have no flare left in them Look out for the freefly team, Smelly Peppers. To get back from far spot under x-brace.
petejones45 replied to stayhigh's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
you missed the point, it was question regarding coming back from a long spot if that is the case you are endangering other jumpers by opening higher than the predetermined opening altitude Look out for the freefly team, Smelly Peppers. Whatever i didn't know some of the stuff, just because you didn't find it worthwhile doesn't mean it isn't.... this is a prime reason on why so many people don't come to this helpful site because their posts are shot down by know-it-alls Look out for the freefly team, Smelly Peppers. Which should be BEFORE EVERY JUMP. Your AAD can suddenly show an error, a blank screen, the wrong mode, wrong alti, or be turned off. If you continue to jump a rig throughout the day after just checking it ONCE, you´re asking for bad stuff to happen to you And here is yet another contradictory thing as the general thinking with an AAD has been "set it and forget it." Perhaps a simple audible alert could be added to an AAD if it fires. It'd have two purposes: * To prevent a rig from accidently being used if the AAD has fired the cutter but for some reason the reserve did not deploy. * Assist in location of a jumper whose AAD has fired. Would be especially useful if they landed in trees or perhaps water or maybe a night jump. have you ever seen an FXc??? the "set it and forget it" rule defenitnatly doesn't apply to those things!!!! You can tell it's real because you can hear it ticking. Ok, now does the Chinese have some sort of TSO program? it shouldn't matter should it? wouldn't the gear still have to be tested under the US TSO? That wasn't the point of my question, it was an interest in knowing if the Chinese government had some sort of standards for parachute systems and if there was any testing. Curiosity on my part as to if, what and how this gear fits into their own standards. oops my bad Look out for the freefly team, Smelly Peppers. I don't think it would be very wise to cutaway a good chute(i wouldn't), if you are jumping something that small you would have to make that decision quick because lose things will come down pretty fast I would think the OP with a D license and 4 times as many jumps as you, would have a much better idea how fast a small main comes down that you do...YMMV ok Look out for the freefly team, Smelly Peppers. You say this based on what? Your extensive experience with 20-ways? What's the difference if it was 22, 24 or even 34? All of them are too big for you to be counting jumpers or canopies, and this is where you count on your skill, experience and training for both freefalling and flying a canopy in a crowd (provided you have those things). This is why skydivers spend time jumping, and learning, and developing skills, so they can achieve a level of proficiency and get invited onto larger, more technical jumps. Maybe you should hold your comments until another newbie wants to lie to a DZO and jump a wing suit well before the BSR permits, as that seems to be your area of expertise. You say this based on what? have you seen me jump?!!! Look out for the freefly team, Smelly Peppers. That's what liberals do as a "nyeah nyeah" to taunt real Americans who want to give gun-o-phobes two to the chest. So when a liberal puts his hand over his chest during the National Anthem, he's really saying "fuck you". It's all a code. And the Repubs think "i'll bend over!" haha Look out for the freefly team, Smelly Peppers. Once we get a couple years more experience we will be a force to be reckoned with in the near future! BLUES!

didn't know the actual number? that doesn't sound being very safe on your part I am pretty certain he meant that he didn't know how many made it into the formation. Nothing unsafe about that, you should try asking questions rather then assuming. oh ok Look out for the freefly team, Smelly Peppers. With the thread title you chose, it's impossible to determine that beforehand. But never fear, you're developing quite a reputation here, that will quickly have you on most people's "ignore" lists. thats ok, you've been on my ignore list for about a year now Look out for the freefly team, Smelly Peppers. you could probably get about 1200-1300 for it, alot of people think their gear is worth retail(similar to your condition) and ask for 1500-1800 Look out for the freefly team, Smelly Peppers. Once we get a couple years more experience we will be a force to be reckoned with in the near future! BLUES!
