I think that ALL aspects canopy piloting need to be stressed more in the early stages. To me it is like you are programed to fly with certain steps that you must take. if you follow those steps you will land. I think most of us know that that is far from the way it really works. Flying the small stuff is a rush, but it's so much better when "you can actualy fly and not be flown". Just my take on things. I have found that after washing them, they are never the same again. Just run out and buy some cheap gloves, and chuk the nasty ones. "Hey listen dude; if you’re into playin it close that’s cool, but were talkin major malfunction here"

I think i remember mullins flying a 46 or 49 icaurs back in 98 or 99. back when his everyday canopy was the 69, at that time he had never landed it though. at that time he also said that if he couldnt get the slider down under his chin and the chest strap undone he would chop it because at that square footage he needed to use "all" of the canopy. i will never forget the sound that thing made the first time i watched him land. i just got my cobalt 120 today, I have never jumped one before so I am kind of woundering what i can generally expect, say compaired to a stilletto 150 witch i am very comfortable with and would give me a good refrence point. here, here.... I started learning under an old sabre 170. I'll tell you that a few time that is what saved my ass (god did i hit hard). You can have a bunch of fun and feel the rush under a larger canopy when you learn the correct technique (long carv's baby.....) Have fun.... I want to be just like Truman Sparks when I get big...
