  1. a few points on rounds: - don't knock em! they're cheap and they work. I don't have one now but jumped alot with a round reserve and have seen them deployed all successfully. - the key to tight landings is proper spotting. sometimes this gets forgotten at some places (gps, squares etc) but if you do have a round reserve the spot is crucial. If you can spot properly you should hardly ever have a problem - I know other people who jump round reserves out of choice. If i'm knocked unconcious in the air and my cypress fires i'd rather be under a round asleep then a square turning downwind. - let it be known that I do jump a square reserve now. I just wanted to make a point that all rounds aren't bad. Unless of course you weigh 200lbs and have a 22" lo-po. OUCH!!! jay
  2. i tended to lend out my gear alot because others had done the same for me at times. One time i lent it to a guy who I knew and he proceeded to open low which caused his reserve to fire as well. Square main, round reserve side by side which caused a semi-major downplane. He didn't cutaway the main and rode them both into the trees. I wasen't upset as he was okay, the gear seemed fine and he did pay for inspection, repairs, and the repack. I was upset though that I couldn't jump my own rig while it was getting serviced for quite sometime. Major pain!! I since don't lend out my gear as its new and dammit I'm selfish!!! On the other hand if it was a friend, they asked nicely, and I trusted them, what the hell, take it!!!! lol
  3. I agree with your statement but there are exceptions. I have an older racer 91 with velcro on the riser covers and i've found them to be super tight and clean. Have never had a problem with them and realize that on this racer the risers are super deep with lots of protection. My complaint is the main pin protection and bridle protection which just isn't there for the type of flying i'm doing now. jason ps: my new wings container solves all my problems. :)

    tattoo

most tattoo artists sort of have a protfolio. I don't think you'll find much on-line. I have a friend who is an awesome tatooist and a pretty good freeflyer as well. He did mine. on the old dropzone.com in the employment section there was a guy saying he would tattoo for jumps. Maybe email him.
  6. hey gang, any thoughts and suggestions on the best wide angle lens for a PC-7? Mostly freefly vids will be shot. I believe I should be looking for a .50 but some that I've found are very specific for certain models which don't include the PC-7. thanks peace
  7. maybe they have like 4000 jumps and can't even count how many 20 ways they have been on. I know lots of guys with tons of jumps that have been on so much different gear they'ld probably have to look in there log book to let ya know what they jumped a year ago. Mostly people like this generalize because well... they can. peace Edited by jayhfx on 3/7/01 11:39 AM.
