  1. good question u posed there. I have always told people to do a search on-line for the different components. Just because someone may have a safire with 150 jumps on it and they want say 1000.00 if you find 5 others around the same jumps for under that then the current value will be an average of them all. I have found it always works well when trying to find out if your getting bang for your buck. later jay

    buying Icarus

seriously guys I got a 40% off gift certificate that i'm not gonna use. If anyone here can use it right away as it expires soon get back to me.
  4. don't freakin worry about it. Lots of people have opinions and thats all they are. You'll love the wings and almost every other rigger out there won't mind packing them at all. In fact my rigger loves em so much he went and got one too. peace jay

    buying Icarus

Hey all! Anyone here who is planning on buying any type of Icarus canopy except a tandem main send me an email at jaymurphy26@hotmail.com or reply here. I may have some good news for ya. Be quick peace jay
  6. hey skydekker, not from Ontario here but Nova Scotia instead. The best resource to find info on what your looking for is www.cspa.ca, click on member groups and the Ont. and you'll find a list of all dz's and links to there web sites. good luck peace
  7. since ya said your not buying a main just a container and cypress i say go for it. I bought my container and cypress from Ralph and got a great deal. Very easy to deal with and I got exactly what I wanted. peace
  8. no its not customary, LOL Too continue jumping a canopy you feel is unsafe just cause ya got nothing else seems even crazier. Is that customary??? In all honesty it could be a number of things: a different packing and flying technique maybe required a canopy that lost its trim etc etc. I'd ask your rigger to check it or just send it back. peace jay
  9. southern states, it dosen't really matter I guess. I'm leaning towards arizona freeflight.
  10. yo gang! I'm planing on heading south in feb. for a week and am interested in getting some free fly coaching done. I'm looking for a program versus just a few jumps. I already have an idea of where and what I want to do but am interested in hearing about others and there experiences. peace jay
  11. I've heard of this from a few people and searched on line through yahoo and found the site. I tried it on 5 jumps this weekend and found it worked awesome. It was very fast to pack and packed up small. By the way it was done on a triathalon 160. Any others use it?? jay peace
  12. I've seen that before as well. We determined it was a step-through so I guess thats a packing mistake. I think ya did great. peace

    pull up cords?

anyone know where to order custom printed pull up cords? thanks jason peace
  14. hi I jump a Merlin and am super happy with it. My buddy jumps a firefly and loves it and another jumps a freedom means choice. He is a bigger guy and the suit is very heavy but he loves it and I must say it seems very well built. If I had to choose between the three I'd get the cheapest one with the options I wanted. peace
  15. just saw the link. a few people are already there. later
  16. you'll need another person to sight it. When marking the holes on where to drill use a liquid paper pen.(easy to see and comes off easy) Also a drill press is better than a hand held as you can better line up the bit and keep a better grip on the helmet. Also use some smaller bits at first and work your way up to the proper size this prevents chipping and stuff. contact the helmet maker and ask them. Some companies provide templates as well. later jay
  17. I know I shouldn't post stuff like this but Genine and the crew at Sunrise deserve it. I had a problem with my container which I noticed last Sat. Monday I faxed a diagram of the problem and all the info and within 20mins I got a call back. That day I sent my rig Fed Ex International and received it back on Thursday all ready to go. No charges and a bag of goodies as well. Cudos to Sunrise. later jay
  18. i've gone 3 times. Everyone on the load was naked even the pilot. Great Video. jay PS: Holding a stand is not recommended!
  19. maybe that should go in the gear section.. thanks for the "ad" but instead of slamming other containers maybe let the vortex stand on its own merits. time will tell
  20. I believe its Sum41 and the song is called fat lip/pain for pleasure. They're from Toronto. am i right?

    gear in Houston

hey gang, I'm flying to Houston tonight( last minute of course ) and I'm hoping to get to a dropzone tomorrow. Any dropzones around have a gear shop? I'm just looking for small stuff ie: videos maybe another helmit etc. tanks jay
  24. I agree geoff on our dropzone we have quite a mixture of square and round reserves. as part of out pre jump plan if we find out there is a round on the load we spot specifically for the whole load on the knoweledge assumption that he will land under that round. The rest of us with squares understand that we can get back to the dz from anywhere. Right?????? lol just kidding jay
