Keep in mind a 401 has a slant needle/shank which means it is incompatible with some attachments/feet.

Skydance also has a $2000 A license package that covers gear, aff, packing, water training, hop & pops etc.

How is speedriding any different from...
menopause replied to jrjny's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
You might not understand it at this point, but your kind of attitude is what gets people killed. I'm not saying you will get someone killed, and you will probably end up getting away with most of the stuff you are doing now. What I am saying is you don't fully realize the risk you are putting yourself and others in when you do these kinds of things. Hopefully your skydiving career will continue without incident and you will look back and think about how lucky you were. -

People assume a certain amount of risk when they cross a street too, it doesn't make it okay for you to ignore all traffic signs and stoplights because you are an EXPERT DRIVER and hey they assumed the risk! I just hope you don't take anyone else out with you. -
Just think, this guy has responsibility over students lives and cannot detect blatant sarcasm.

Have you asked everyone you fly with if they are okay with you risking their life? Your choice (for better or worse) isn't just about you.

420 lbs and feeling the need to jump
menopause replied to TheOneBigMike's topic in Skydivers with Disabilities
You're too fat to skydive, and in denial about it. You're not going to "show us" by trying to skydive at your weight, you're going to "get hurt" or "die" or "get someone killed". If money really isn't an object for you, hire someone to kick your ass into shape for a year and make some healthy lifestyle changes. -
Hey Tex post your videos already!

420lb male skydiving. Possible? Yes, but how?
menopause replied to TheOneBigMike's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Another thing anonymity does is make it easier to tell someone they are too fat to skydive when in person it might be kinda awkward. -
Why aren't there any videos of fast packers? I'm still trying to get my time under 10 minutes on a sport rig. I really want to see a fast packjob on video.

Swoop Gone Wrong - The Aftermath

How the hell do you know what my attidude is toward downsizing. I guess this says it all, really. -

In a way you are absolutely right. I am arguing from my experience of actually witnessing a guy swoop into a spool because of his rapid downsizing and attitude that other people should be careful about their downsizing choices. Other people are arguing from their experience of seeing people downsize "rapidly" and flying successfully that jump numbers do not necessarily matter. I am also, in a way, jealous because I want to be flying an aggressive canopy currently but do not feel like I have the ability to do so safely. Fear of injury based on my experience outweighs my desire to downsize rapidly. Edit: I'm also not in the mood to die anytime soon, and the news on the street is we get a lot of fatalities in this sport from people doing stupid shit under good canopies. -

Are you saying you don't think jump numbers, canopy type and wing loading are important? -

So you realize that the guy that swooped into a spool (the guy caused this thread) had the exact same mindset and attitude that you do, right? What exactly is the harm in listening to what experienced people are telling you and chilling out on your downsizing? Are you actually aware of the potential consequences of your actions not just to yourself but others?
