I can agree with that.. mostly. But define 'waste my time'? For me a date is a success if we both had fun. That doesn't necessarily mean long-term relationship potential, or even romantic potential at all. At what point does it stop being a date and becomes simply 'hanging out with a friend'? I have went out on a date with someone, and then became good friends. I can tell if we are going to have any chemistry relatively quickly. I just like being honest about it. If he asks if I want to go out again I just explain that we can hang out as friends, but I just don't see any romantic future. It's better than leading someone on!
