  1. I am NOT going to make people roll thier eyes by asking "Is it okay for me to jump a blah blah blah.. or a blah blah blah" I have some solid and sound advice and feel it's time to downsize. I feel comfortable with my 240 and completed all of the USPA CP card.. and my next available rental rig is a 200... That will be a HUGE change in wingloading.. Pulling early to do some practice turns to see how it handles high up is probably a good idea... Practice flares, ETC. I know my forward and downward speed is about to slightly increase losing 40 square feet of canopy (or maybe going from .96 to 1.2 wingloading it will definately be a big increase) When you DO on your first "I'm going to feel this out for my first time" and if you've been caught in a "Holy Crap, I'm screwed situation" other than prepare to PLF.. Any Ideas? You can roll your eyes with that question ;p... Thanks!! Blue Skies!!! Taz
  2. I have had my risers partially caught in my container after my canopy released (it's kinda hard to tell behind my container) but anyways I grab the riser that is out it popped free... that only happend to me once though so far. Taz
  3. SMH... Selling everything you own???? How silly... you can sell yourself too... I look damn good in heels for a dude, just kidding. The truth of the matter is that I am downsizing all the crap I don't need around the house... what I NEED is my house to be at the DZ :p Blue Skies!!! Taz
  4. Also BTW your Altimeter is NOT accurate below 1,000 Feet.... if you were trying to track your legs using that exclusively... you are setting yourself up for a funeral. I reccomend that you try a Tandem jump with an experienced instructor who can help you dial in your accuracy and talk the landing through as you go so you get a good "hands on" feel. At only 36 jumps and only an A License I am not as experienced as most but it worked for me. Take Care, Blue Skies! Taz
  5. EXCELLENT FIND!!! I will START using that starter pistol.... That seems like a fool proof solution! Taz
  6. Yeah, I don't think the TSA guy will have anything in the Pocket of Concern about paying for a repack... To use my line "Bill the President and he'll pay for it" anyways it always pays to be cool to the TSA Nazis! Taz
  7. Well that sounds like that's that in a nutshell!!! Thanks!!! Taz
  8. Say... here's a quick question I was wondering as I was checking out my B card... The requirements to make 10 group freefall formations... that seems ambigious - is there a set standard number of RW jumpers (2 way, 4 way, whatever) and how many formation shifts / points. 2nd Question - Live Water training (just need one AFF-I, IAD-I, Coach, or what?). I will also ask when I go back to the DZ next weekend just wondering if someone knew offhand... Thanks! Taz
  9. All very excellent points... The real issue is when your the last individual on the plane and you have people with like 15 damn carryons and all the bins are full though :( Taz
  10. I had my own DZ but then I got high!!! That sucks!! Taz
  11. So here is the question: Why should they be carried on? Is it because of the fact that luggage personnel just don't give a damn how they handle stuff? Taz
  12. So here's a question: As a A license jumper I can rig my OWN main parachute but when I rent a rig and jump it.... it would have to repacked under a supervision of a rigger, correct? That is of course... unless I jump said rig until I repacked it for the last time under the supervision of a Senior Rigger, Correct? Any thoughts folks? Taz
  13. I absoultely LOVE THAT MOVIE!!! Taz
  14. I respectfully disagree- he makes provocative videos that are a new style all to thier own, whether you like them or dislike them. Taz
  15. Is Adreneline Air in Vichy, MO closed? Skydive Missouri in Mt. V along with Freefall Express in Mt V. Free Fly Center in Festus... Anyone here got anything candid to say on any of this stuff... will be visiting MO soon for two months!!! Thanks! Taz
  16. STAY SAFE, never be content with making a safety mistake and as they say plan your dive and dive the plan but... if things didn't go according to plan... like me missing my accuracy jumps... didn't complete the performance objectives but chalked it up as a win... remember your mistakes and that you SKYDIVED... I am at Jump #23 and am going to be over 25 Jumps when I get my A License... Oh Well... I still enjoyed what I did... and no Troll "Sky God" can take that away from me. Okay, so I still wear the retarded student suit... and my chute doesn't look as cool as others... I am still able to chill in the thrill and live and hope to meet those performance objectives next jump... The point is to go for the objectives but if things go south then stay positive and..... RELAX :P bro... your SkYdiving and it's fun... that's why everyone is here!!! Taz
  17. I will next time... I just want to enjoy FF but be able to make a good decision at 2500... I need to get back in to my SIM and on my next jump I will be able to consider the options better after your advice. Taz
  18. Doesn't it take about 5 seconds to inflate fully? I might be mistaken but my last canopy was a PD-240.. exit weight 200 Taz
  19. Well I just did three jumps here in Delaware today... i relaxed and kept on heading.. I was just kinda bummed that on my AFF level 7 there also was some turning motion.. maybe not spinning but just a slow turn... did toe taps and counter steer a little... I am now comfortable with waving at 4.5 now and pulling at 4. Not going all the way to 3.5 because it will take 1k or so for my main to inflate and 2500 is my magic decision altitude.. Practice makes perfect Taz
  20. I just graduated the AFF Program and am now on Solo status... I have a problem though... I sometimes turn when I dont intend to in FF and I was wondering... what is recommended - a dive exit, poised exit, or something else? I plan on FF 13 - 3.5k - I have 13 jumps until A License anyways.. but I want to gain more stability in FF. I hope to do at least 10 jumps tomorrow if weather allows... Woo hoo my jumps now cost double digits :D Please let me know!! Thanks :p Blue Skies, Taz Taz
  21. On my AFF grad dive I had an extremely positive experience visiting skydive del marva. I really like the DZ but think that the DZ area should be delinated better as with a grass Airfield and farmland surrounding it could be marked better with paint on the roof.. VS-17 panels.. Something! All that being said thier professionalism and dedication is superb.. After a dusk skydive I asked one of the riggers if he would minds giving me a on the spot class. He had no issues discussing the finer points of rigging unt 930 pm... This DZ is truly outstanding and well worth the drive even from Baltimore!! Great group of folks who love skydiving.. As a matter of fact.. I have only 12 jumps but was corrected for the first time about my boots with hooks on them being a no go due to getting caught in suspension lines if I am in an unstable position after parachute deployment. Was never mentioned before at any other DZs. If they had warmer weather and less wind it would be my year round mecca for skydiving on the east coast.
  22. Folks. I just was a Level 3 AFF Jump reject. I was told that my Arch was improper. I am enlarging my arch... taking my feet wider like the jumpmasters told me to... as I want to pass lvl 3. I need the Arch and what goes on in FF at a speak and spell level if someone has the time because I need to freefall to pass of course. Is there something that will let me know ok... when in free fall.... that move in the air equals blank... so that way I can kinda take steps to adjust my body position if the need arises? I am a AFF Level III retest. I did not have a very controlled freefall.... I get told to relax but trust me I am relaxed... I just need my body to arch right. I am sorry for asking such basic questions and thank you for your time and thought. Taz Taz
  23. The Reason being is I am thinking of getting married soon (if the lady still likes me after getting my A license) and I cant think of anything better to do on that day but to say that I am stuck in traffic.. the roads are blocked but I will do what I can, etc.... and then the next thing you know I am overhead and jump in for the wedding... I think that would be too cool. I assume that this fantasy is possibly stereotypical and cliche but I strangely am comfortable with it anyways (I would even do a water landing in the lake) I don't know who controls that? Sounds like a NOTAM and I can jump the lake anytime (for water anytime after by B License that is) :P Thanks! Taz Taz
